Microsoft Visio is a good beginner tool for drawing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and other process diagrams.

Hi Ryan, Are you using Visio Professional 2019? Can you choose between US units and Metric Units? What are the main shortcomings of Visio Standard 2019 comparing Professional 2019?

This was done using Visio Professional 2019. You can choose between US and metric units when creating your diagram, but you can also change that in the page settings. I'm sorry, I don't really know the differences between the standard and professional versions.

@@RyanTangney Thanks Ryan I note that almost all Visio KZbinrs demonstrating Visio P&ID are also using Professional versions. I believe that Visio Professional 2019 is a right choice for producing technical drawings more efficiently and professionally. Thanks again.

Are the Valves and Fittings shapes Preloaded on Visio 2019 Pro? or are those custom made stencils?
