Well I watched this video and realized that, to me, you are completely unleashed and wildly free in your execution....Freedom like this will certainly be an incredible process of letting go...and certainly take time. WOW

I try to approach each piece very open minded, no preconceived ideas as I work very intuitively and quickly. I hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for tuning in! 😊

Great idea to use the white - looks like slanting sunlight on the flowers. I love watching you work. Thanks for the great narration.

I'm so incredibly grateful to you, Debra Lyn. Your creations are pure joy, and gorgeous!! I've got to get out of my painter fright, as I have multitudes of paints, paper, accessories....also, I see you can purchase Dr. Martin's white....I'll definitely add that to the mix. Your painting is fabulous!!😘💖💚💛💜💙🎨

Why are you in a painter fright? Just put some paper down and throw some paint…play, have fun, who cares if it turns out to be a mess, just have fun.

Yes, I love how you use white, and you’ve inspired me to begin using it. I love your work and demos! Thank you!

It is amazing to see how you create layers after layers giving beautiful depth to the painting. You seem to be working intuitively. But you know exactly what effects you are creating. It is impossible to do the same. Simply awesome work. Love it. I think this is one of your best. Thank you for sharing. 🙏

I use white. I love white. I don't see painting as something that needs to be revered, but rather a hobby, a way to earn a living, even a way to aid with healing of damaged minds. Not the "be all and end all" of existence. So I use what I have in the search of happiness. Even mixed media. (There, now I've said it, mixed media...). But does that make me the lesser artist? Well, I'll leave that to your own way of thinking. TTFN.

Thanks for writing Graham, I always look forward to your messages, you’re very well written. Also, congrats on joining the fun of adding mixed media into your vocabulary and art😆… I promise I won’t tell anyone 😝

I’m with you Debra on Ph Martin! I use it but I’m not quite there yet with being as bold as you. I hate masking and what can happen when you use it. We need to change the mindset of no-no’s!

I’m with you Debra. I also use Ph Martin, but I am not yet quite as bold as you in using it. I hope to get there. I dislike using masking and what can happen when you use it. It’s time to stop with all the no-no’s in painting. The result is what is important, as you have demonstrated!

I have always wondered why if using white (and black) watercolour paint is such a sin, as many professionals preach, it is often included in paint sets!

Hi Debra Lyn. Lovely painting! I use Chinese White watercolour out of tubes because here in NZ have not been able to get white gouache! It's just as good! Keep up the great work and have a Happy Easter. Francie 💖👍😃

Thank you. This is beautiful and very instructive. Just a couple of questions, if I may - did you have a reference photo of specific flowers or are these completely imaginary? What mixing palette are you using? (I clicked on the link, but it took me to paints rather than the physical palette.) Thanks.

Anything’s possible. you could put watercolor in a small mister bottle and add some distilled water to it and make your own watercolor spray.

I have just discovered you. I love your style. The looseness and the vibrant colors and the sunlight effect. I’m just waiting till the end to see what you do with the dark right upper corner. Question... what was your reasoning to leave it darker? My curious mind would like to know. I am excited to watch more of your work. ❤️

Hi Kathie. The upper right gets lighted up slightly after filming. After analyzing things after filming I felt I needed to go back in and lighting it up a little bit more.
