Never expected this crossover! I've turned into a hermit since starting 1st semester of med school, definitely feels like there's never enough time. Hopefully systems will be more cohesive and free up my schedule!

You're so lucky! Omg I hated stressing about the step 1 score. But TBH, step 2 should have more weight. It's actually more clinical than Step 1.

I think the craziest part of the pass/fail step1 will be that residency applicants won't know if they are competitive for their desired specialty until they are almost ready for step2 and taking practice tests (assuming PDs will weigh step 2 ck the most). So it will create people either applying to what they feel is "safe" while others planning on applying to specialties that they will end up not being competitive for.

Could you make a video showing an insight of the step 1 exam and how it is actually conducted… A med school aspirant here, still in high school though, but I really wanted to know if all the questions will be subjective i.e written or are some parts practically conducted and how everything is done? I’m quite curious…

I am a foreign med student and have the possibility of a fellowship in the US in my mind. I am pretty certain that I want to do my residency in my own country. Does the Step 1 score matter for the fellowship in terms of competitiveness? If not, it would make more sense for me to take the PASS/FAIL exam.

Thanks for the video, is there a way that you can collaborate with someone that is an IMG? Kind of sad that it's going to be pass-fail. We US-IMGs don't really know whats going to happen with us. We still have to take the OET just because we went to an international school.

@@TinaOnEarth if u think u could get a good score then take it before the deadline if ur score won’t be really high u better take it pass or fail. Good luck!!
