Russia needs to pay more than that with it's very existence, the people whose responsibility it was to keep their leaders in check failed the rest of the world. When States go rogue like Russia did and attacked it neighbor unprovoked there needs to be more than a just a "change of leadership" there needs to be real accountability like supervision, like what occurred after WW2 in Germany when it was held to account for it's actions leading up and at the conclusion of the war. When it was deemed time, the wall came down and Germany was set on a democratic future, the Russian people deserve no less than to be free of Putin and his gang of thugs and Putin needs to be jailed for his crimes. Because drones give real-time knowledge to artillery units, artillery has (so far in this war) been able to disrupt units being staged for a large scale attack. It's too soon to declare the tank to be obsolete, but the battlefield is definitely evolving. Since brains are required to evolve, Ukraine has the edge.

Maybe Russia can refurbish old armour as well as producing new stock, but I find it doubtful. Modern weapons systems as well as AFV's are heavily reliant on sophisticated electronics (fire control computers, laser range finders, etc.) and where will Russia get those? Add to that the expected influx of western weaponry and expect Russian losses to increase even further. How long can their economy hold up to the financial strain? My honest opinion is that Russia has already lost this war but like his mentor Hitler, Putin is too mentally deranged to accept it.

Armata is not even ready, there is only couple prototypes, around 20 or something like that. Russia have always lied about how much they actually have stuff. First is was 50 000 tanks, then 30 000 and now it's 14 000, in reality they never have had even 10 000 of tanks.

The tank is such an integral part of Russia's military it cannot stop using them even though Ukraine is showing that a tank is nothing other than a trap for its occupants and thus obsolete. I see their added production of tanks as just a production of coffins for Russians. Multiple FPV drones destroy them, Javelins destroy them with high probability using only one strike , and the British NLAW does the same. All of these anti-tank weapons are much less costly than tanks and Russia is fighting a coalition of nations that has 15 times its wealth and likely 15 times ins industrial capacity.
