mad bro Cincinnati has been waiting for a long time for a professional soccer team. SAY soccer (Soccer Association for Youth) started here in 1967. I know very few people here who didn't grow up playing the sport, coaching, or refereeing. It's surprising that it has taken this long for Cincy to put together a professional team, but the crowd size doesn't surprise in the least. We breathe soccer in Cincy.

Justice was done in the shootout. Cincy was screwed out of a game-winning goal in the extra time -- called offsides, when it CLEARLY was not...not to mention a Chicago handball in the box right before the expiration of regular time, which was uncalled. In any event, WHAT A GAME!

Very impressed. Few if any MLS expansion applicants can do what FC Cincinnati has done. The only way FC Cincinnati isn't selected for next round of expansion is if the system is rigged. This fan base is remarkable for a USL team.

mcriii They could easily win a promotion to MLS without a stadium for the time being and could simply play in Nippert for a couple of years while the club attempts to woo more private investors to help with stadium completion. Besides, I'd love to see an Ohio Derby and this is a USL team that has fan support better than some MLS clubs. It would be an absolute travesty to NOT bring them to MLS.

mcriii NYCFC suggests otherwise. All you need is a plan. And Nippert is a good venue just like the CLink in Seattle. If you can pull 30,000 plus why limit yourself with a 25,000 stadium?

WRONG, Nippert is a huge conflict of interest and in no means will that deal ever work, one major problem is the fact FC Cincinnati wants a grass field put in which will be a conflict of interest with the football team and students which would mean students will no longer be able to use the field for recreation during semesters and such which is a huge set back for some, I love them, but I just don't see it being possible to stay at Nippert, Nippert was never built for a soccer team.

Born and bred here in Cincinnati. I LOVE our MLB team and NFL team. I have attended UC Bearcat college football games at Nippert Stadium since 1972 when I was 6 yrs. old. Never played soccer In My LIFE. Do not know the rules, I'm learning little by little.....but I have to tell anyone outside of Cincinnati or the United States that this team has grabbed the imagination of folks like me that don't know jack about the game. Ha! The fan base is as rabid of any I have seen and one thing about this area called Cincinnati. Once a team like FCC anchors itself into the hearts and minds of this city - - it's a wrap! This Cincinnati area is an absolute hotbed for soccer, the kids in this area start very young and you see the local parks filled with kids and their "futbal." It has been amazing to watch for the last twenty years and it has grown to this. Cincinnati needs to have this....but more importantly IMO USL NEEDS to have FC Cincinnati in their ranks. If they're not one of the teams picked......IMO there is something incredibly "shady" going on.

Man what a fucking game. I watched caused I was interested. I had no stake in this I'm a LA Galaxy but I wanted to see this game. This was amazing. On national television man. One of the best games I've ever seen. Cincy deserves to be in MLS. Hell U.S. Soccer needs to really promote this better. Look at that turnout. This is the main thing that Don Garber and the MLS need to realize: No other USL team even gets 13,000 on a regular basis! Every game Cincy has played has had 15,000 fans or MORE and this is always going to be the case!...They have a stadium...they have a great market! so if there not one of the next two teams to join MLS I';m gonna be shocked!

I don't understand why they need to have the new stadium. I hope the MLS realizes that Nippert is the one place we can actually have the amazing attendence and atmosphere and allows us to stay in nippert. Probably won't happen but we can dream!

It's because MLS wants all new markets to have heir own stadiums rather than share a stadium..even though Nippert isn't a problem MLS and Cincy to an extent would much rather this move. Now they may let Cincy play at their current stadium while the new oneis being built but who knows.
