The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. I have an impression that we witness reset in WTA ranking. Swiatek is not number 1 anymore and other skilled players like Muchova are taking over .Her or Ostapenko can win US Open 2023.

I have played and watched a lot of tennis in my life. Followed closely Greats like from the time of Borg / McEnroe & Navratilova / Evert to now. There were always great players around ! However a real pleasure and joy for me to watch were only few. The ones that combined skills with elegance, effectiveness with variety and competitiveness with dignity. In Men's tennis I have to admit there have been plenty - mainly (of course) Federer, Djokovic, Agassi, Edberg , Becker and Monfils (although not 100% at the same competitive level). In Women's tennis however the respective list is far more limited. One would have to name Navratilova and then struggle to find really equals. Don't get me wrong. I do not say there were not great players around (e.g. Graf, Henin, V. Williams, Sharapova, Kvitova). But - in my opinion - they all lacked multi-dimensional presence and game (Serena Williams I fully exclude, as for me she fails in all of my criteria). And then came Muchova. It has been really long, since I enjoyed women's tennis as much ! I hope she can maintain her recent level for us to enjoy !

I agree! I'm a staunch Steffi Graf fan, mainly because of the way she moved - like a gazelle on the court. I never thought there would be a WTA player of current times who would be elegant and successful. I really don't like saying this but I must admit that Muchova covers the court even more elegantly than Steffi.
