The F8 Crusader was my personal favorite aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA34) Carrier Air Group 16 Pacific Fleet age 17-21. What grand thunder of afterburner the last of the gunfighters made on catapult launches. My warship if I was a magnet the USS Oriskany was steel all 888 feet of her from the middle of my senior year of high school at age 17 until the day before I reached age 21

VAQ-130 this cruise. EKA3-B'S from the fantail to the cat. Flight ops in the gulf of tonkin. Memories I'll never forget!

The guys loading the bombs were VA 153 I recognize Tom Allison loading the bomb rack he has the beard and I was the one arming the 500 pounder. Just my hand. That was my job.
