43:41 the Hindustani classical music is called shastriya sangeet because it is mentioned in old hindu scripture (shastra) called the natyashastra. Khayal is a much later fusion which got developed by some persian influences in the courts of muslim emperors. So it is right to say that khayal is not shastriya sangeet but a corrupted form of it. Ancient styles like Dhrupad and Haveli sangeet come closer to the erstwhile shastriya sangeet.

True but also not true at the same time. Since the concept of improvisations actually exists from the time of dhrupad itself and even rahga. Ofcourse even new raga came after khayal in Hindustani format
