May Allah SWT rest his soul in peace, Ustad Saaz Nawaz a legendary musician was a great loss for people of Kashmir. Be it muaqami assawari or mauqami subhdam while playing the magical Santoor would throw lovers into ecstasy, emotion and exaltation. His sons Mushtaq and Shabir are struggling hard to promote the art due to financial constraints and lack of interest by local population due to the political situation. People interested in Santoor to survive must come forward to contribute and encourage the Maestro's family and offer some financial help. I would personally like to hear Santoor played on its own and would gladly provide funds to help the family financially in whatever way possible.
