Best Kirvani I have ever heard. The audience unfortunately did not seem to know when to applaud. Ustad Shahid Parvez' laykari in this performance was out of this world. The clarity of his notes and the speed of his tanakari is unbelievable. Ustadji has picked out the best characterestics of the baaj of Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib and taken it to new heights of perfection. He is the most dedicated and thinking Sitarist of his times. A raga sees its total completion in his hands. Great!!!

@@blenditlikethat9158 no your explanation is wrong. he finished his tihai on the refrain, which lands on the 8th count. and that is how it is intended to be. It is 'modern' style for tabla players to land on the refrain, that is, mukhada instead of sam, and then the main artist + tabla player play the refrain together.

Basically these performances are all about time and profit. Looking at the watch so they don't over perform and just giving people a little of their performance capability. Not even breaking a sweat! I think on every performance they should give it all they have and build some excitement and shake the listeners and make them say WOW.
