He spoke very highly and fondly of you and admired how you have bloomed stating that Sujjat plays very good. I am 93 and my listening interest started by listening to Pilu by Ustd. Spellbound for three hours. Missed lunch. What an interview. He can inspire anyone with his life experiences. A man born with a golden spoon, so it would seem, torn by issues that would destroy a child, very few go thru. Resurrection of one's life and then rising to be one of the greatest sitar players of the next generation is very inspiring. The resilience of this great artist is also awe inspiring. He does not bear the scars, emotional hurt, insecurities and if he does he converts them into experience. This is amazing for anyone - leave aside an artist. This took me to my old memories of 1966 to 1976 when I was learning sitar from our great guru Ustad Vilayat khan sab's deciples Late Hari Shankar Paranik & Pandit Giriraj Singh. I attended almost all concerts of Ustad Vilayat Khan held in Mumbai . At one of the concert in Mumbai, when I was seating behind behind Ustad Vilayat Khan on the stage Sutat was seating beside me . He was then about of 10 or 11 yrs. old boy. God bless you Sujat. I watch all the vedios of Sujat.

Ustad Vilayat Khan was a Musical Genius.. a mastreo. Ustad Rais Khan was Super-Genius (gayaki ang - musical sensibility).. but Ustad Vilayat Khan was a very difficult / complex human being. He was, the way he was... and time and life experiences had made him bitter. But natural. Ustad Shujaat Khan is a Good Human Being... and that is also a HUGE Accomplishment. Aqlaaq (manners) is bigger than craft.. ie. Children of broken homes always have issues. Childhood Trauma does not leave, until death. This is a sad reality... That trauma continues thru-out life.
