going thru old files last night and found this - 1989 USTS Miami with Dave Scott and Lance Armstrong - RUN ONLY - I apologize for the qulity.originally recorded from ESPN on beta, transferred to VHS, then to digital - and yes 10-15 seconds are upside down. I will someday make a better copy when I find the beta copy and a beta machine.

Dave Scott. Hercules. The Man. Still inspires me to get out there and just get a little exercise in. He was so on with weight training and good nutrition.

I agree. I still think he was a very gifted athlete. Even when he raced TDF. Whilst every cheater is responsible for their own actions, the TDF organisers and the UCI also have a lot of blame and shame for allowing cheating to be so rampant that the only way to be a competitive pro was to cheat. Taylor Hamilton said it well.

Sorry but its not possible to have the great athletic career you refer to, nowadays, without using performance enhancing drugs. Which is it going to, being a clean nothing or a doped champion?

It is so sad that Lance, at some point in time, decided that he wanted to become a cheater. Talk about wasting a talent. He could´ve had a great athletic life on wich he could´ve looked back with pride later. All gone now.

Yeah, he only won the Tour de France seven times against a whole pack of other dopers. It's all relative.

Like Jan Ullrich said, Everyone in that era doped, he only wanted to be leveled with the others.

wow. lance was more "buff" as a 17yr old than now. Guess it pays to lose wgt for cycling/triathlon events. (& cancer/chemo history too.....methinks)

LOL-yeah if you knew triathlon Lance at age 16, pushed Dave Scott and Molina in '88 in a sprint tri and had a big swimming and running background prior to cycling-regardless of what he did in the 90's and 2000's; the dude had talent...
