I was wondering if you could explain more about how to use the USV32 to seal retort pouches. When you say you have to do a three pump cycle, do you mean you run through the vacuum and seal three times then followed by three more sealing cycles. The video shows only one vacuum cycle. I have the USV32, and would love to get the Vac100 but can't afford it right now. Thank you. Great video and information.

it is a three stage process. 1 stage vacuum seal as normal. 2nd stage open machine turn pouch over carefully close machine then use just the seal button. 3rd Stage lift pouch carefully and then seal again with an impulse sealer. Using these three steps you will have about a 90% success rate for seals.

I have had JVR Vac 100 for 18 months now. It’s been a great machine however, when it’s sealing the vacuum gauge shows a drop in Vac from 99 down to 97 and I see a a change in the tightness of the bag around the product. Does your sealer do the same during the seal time? None of the videos out there for the JVR Vac 100 show a closeup of the gauge during the vacuum process and sealing process. Thanks for your input on this.

I will have to look. When doing liquids I get boiling at that point in the cycle. If I have the pouch clipped in to tight the boiling makes the pouch expand. If this is what is happing clip only one side of the pouch.

A Wet pump you can change and add oil to the machine. Kind of like car car where you can change the oil. A Dry Pump still has oil in it it is just sealed and the oil can not be changed or checked.

a Dry pump has a very short life span compared to a properly maintained Wet pump.

@@changgooey It really depends on use I still have my UV 32 . For average person the UV32 machine may last 5 years... For my house where we Grow 100% of our own meat Beef, pork, chicken Turkey, and 100% of our Veg. --- OR --- if you are going to do retort it will not be able to pull a hard enough vacuum after a year from my experience. NOW the JVR Vac 100 I can see me passing that on to my kids when i pass on. that machine is built like a tank. and it is quiet and fully repairable....
