Seriously? This guy collaborated with the enemy, here! He apparently didn't realize, just who he was dealing with, and as to what they truly wanted. I'd of trusted Eddie Marlin over Guy Coffey, anyday!
@timmy8271b14 жыл бұрын
@salanh Yeah Samples wasn't really with the GWF. The whole angle was basically full of GWF castoffs and they got fired/quite due to budget cuts.

I think that that's one reason that, when Eddie Marlin came back, he was eventually able to get Mike Samples to sign a Contract...a Contract, I might add, that Mike Samples should have perused, before signing it. How dumb must a person be, not to read a Contract, before signing it?!? I'm quite sure that this was all storyline, in order to get Mike Samples into the USWA as a Wrestler. I mean, look at this guy! He's huge! He ain't no featherweight! I'm guessing that he was between 6'4"-6'8" tall, & about 260-280 pounds. He looked like he could do an Arnold Schwarzenegger on a Camel! (Meaning that he looks like he was strong enough to punch a Camel, & knock him out with just one punch)! As long as he knew how to Wrestle, any Wrestling Organization would've been proud to have him on their Roster!

He truly came across, like an "All eyes on me" kind of a guy. I wouldn't trust him, as far as I could toss him! So much favoritism, that he personally benefitted from, was basically tossed right into his lap. And:See if you remember this:He flip-flopped between being a Fan Favorite, and a Heel, so much...that, if you didn't keep a score-sheet on the guy, as to how much he flip-flopped, you'd have a hard time keeping up with all his good guy/bad guy turns! Seems like he's always been about himself. Now-I'm not saying that he couldn't wrestle and fight. The King's one of the very best at those things, and, yes, he is a Legend, as well as a WWE HOFamer. It's just that things were so slanted towards him almost all the time, that, if it hadn't been that way, why... he'd of bolted for the Then-WWF, a long time ago! 11:19

The WWF and USWA I believe had an understanding since at the time they taped shows... Lawler, Janetty, and a lot of others did their main business out of the WWF, and then went to Memphis once in awhile and did stuff for USWA... I THINK thats what happened

Jerry lawler always talked about how he loved Memphis wrestling and how he could have left and worked some place else but bottom line is he started going to the wwf after he said that he hated it and new york then he went back to the uswa then he stayed in the wwf and the uswa later got soled was named power pro wrestling

Did Guy Coffey just say that Piledrivers are illegal in the USWA? Didn't Jerry "The King" Lawler use the Piledriver maneuver on different occasions in the USWA? Or was that done just in the CWA? Just curious here...
@CWhernidsy2 жыл бұрын
As I remember, even in the CWA the piledriver was “illegal.” Lawler used it in matches where there was a no DQ stipulation or if the heel had cheated and somehow the referee was distracted or knocked down/out and he would use it as retaliation. If I am recalling it right, even in the old CWA days not only was the piledriver illegal but so was throwing an opponent over the top rope and even jumping off the top rope constituted a DQ.

"Everything was scripted of course,watch Guy Coffey anxiously waiting to say his lines trying not to forget them,but it was great wrestling,the interviews were more better than they are now,great wrestling doesn't exist anymore,they don't wrestle anymore they just ramble for hours,they wrestle only for about ten to fifteen minutes,spend most of the time backstage acting in unfunny skits,long live classic wrestling (the 1950's to the mid 1990's)"-😆🛂🗺
