Kristie Mewis played for the USWNT in 2013 and '14 before falling off the radar. She battled back to earn a spot in 2020, and could make the roster for a World Cup for the first time. The Women's World Cup opens in Australia and New Zealand in late July.

I hope she gets a spot. She's come a long way & has fought her way back with such class & perseverance! She has such an inspiring story & has been such a warrior getting back in the NT. I just hope that if she gets the spot, this foolish coach plays her because he tends to slack with that & hardly ever gives her any minutes!
