I grew up in New England rooting for the New York Giants (still do). And, in 2007, everyone around me told me how much my teamed sucked. At the end of the season, they were as silent as they were at the end of the 2011 season.

I’m an eagles fan but I remember watching this super bowl when I was 10 years old and I still vividly remember the helmet catch and Plaxicos touchdown and it’s one of my favorite memories from when I was younger. This was such a great game

I remember feeling like the Giants definitely could take the Pats. That last game in the regular season showed they could stay with them and then their road dog wins built great momentum. You could see the confidence grow each play off game. The Pats had more talent but the Giants were playing cohesively and had the wind at their back. The helmet catch just made it magical. Peak in the playoffs is the way to go.

When a ragtag motley crew middle of the road 10-5 Giants team that backed into the playoffs for the second year in a row faced the 15-0 Patriots during Week 16 and hung with them; that is when the season changed. If that game never happened, when it happened, the Giants would have been bounced by the Bucs during the wildcard round. The universe has a strange way of working.

The pats have a curse on them. 2 times the pats go against the Giants in the super bowl and 2 times they lose. I loved it. Not a fan of either team but I was happy. I use to like the Pats but it’s gotten really really old as Beady and his pats go year after year after year. You get the picture.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish. The 2008 Giants were unstoppable for the first ten games, and then that idiot plaxico shot himself and whatever and it completely altered the team and they were one and done in the playoffs.

I like the 2011 season as a whole better. Eli carried the team most of that year when the D had injuries. 15 4th quarter TDs. Almost 5000 yards passing. He was so clutch. 2007 he was more along for the ride. Don’t get me wrong he made plays to help them win but he didn’t carry the team like he did in 2011.

World’s GREATEST run! What’s funny is that, had the Patriots won SB42, THEY would have the world’s greatest run! Go Giants! Also, worlds greatest UNDERDOGS! We’ve been doing this underdog shit since 1990! Eagles ain’t got nothing on us(except a very positive record against us in the last two decades, but that’s besides the point!)

Now I remember the last game of the regular season I remember because I was thinking god I hope they play again. Cause I knew they could beat them. I’m a bills fan but goddamn was I ever a giants fan when they beat the patriots. Ugh felt so good to watch belicheat taste a real good helping of true defeat. Big plays were made and unbelievable things happen but they got out played and out coached on both sides of the ball and honestly probably one of the greatest teams in history...and I know for the first time in that patriots season they were scared of their opponent.

It seems like yesterday..... as a giants die hard I remember thinking after the first 2 games ........ no way they make the playoffs let alone farther , but they did it ..... giants need to get back to this , nfl leading 53 sacks 4 th ranked rushing offense and a top 5 O line ..... and when they did it again 4 years later , more pass oriented but tied for 2nd in sacks and had a top 5 o line ... more than miracle plays and quote luck it was a relentless pass rush and great o line play, that is what the giants are missing now .

For some reason, watching this today makes me realize something about the Helmet catch. As awesome as it was (the friend I was watching the game with about fell out of his chair at the Sports Bar), I didn't get that excited beyond the initial "Oh my God, did that just happen?" thought. Of course, that is because we were still losing the game. I do remember a couple of plays later saying "You can't have a play that is that cool and not win! You just can't!" Also, after the Burress TD, my friend screamed "We won!" I yelled "Don't say that!!!"

Those that say the helmet catch was a lucky catch might want to look at it again. The catch itself was a awesome catch that took thinking and skill in real fast motion. How about the escape, plant and throw by Eli? The only lucky thing was the Giants didn't get a holding call on that play lol. I'm sure there might have been alittle holding during that sack escape :)

What an inspiring season. Yet, the Eagles think their 2017 season was better than this! To be fair, it was their FIRST time not being a bunch of sorry ass pretenders and it was their first Super Bowl(that they apparently didn’t earn since Bill allegedly threw the game) in over half a century of their team’s sad existence.

Joe Buck is bad, but so is the the Giants announcer Bob Papa, still kissing TB's butt as the game ends, and his eli plaxico call sounds more like how you would expect the national broadcast to sound, not the teams call, very underwhelming.
