@@saltydinosaur5154 same here. I'm not even sure what the main story was. Was is about the large bubble that did nothing untill the last 15 mins, was it about uta (the character we have no information on) or was it to do with those evil guys who play dirty?

@@funkychunk1343 the original mermaid is about a girl who disobeys everyone around her to try and be with a guy from the surface and if she touches him she turns into bubbles. The plot here is basically bubbles came from another dimension or something, one of them strays away because someone caught it’s interest (presumably some bubbles can be considered individuals). This causes the bubbles to get violent and destroy Tokyo which gets evacuated and becomes deserted. After a while run away kids begin using it as their play ground to do parkour and it becomes a big deal. The little mermaid comes to be with the mc who she met when she was a child, her siblings react to get her back, he goes to “save” her they hug and she turns to bubbles.

There's no one in the movie saying that girls can't participate in the Battlekour. But, it just so happen that parkour are hobbies that have more boys than girls who does it but no one said that girls can't or not allowed to do parkour at all. The referee, Shin recommended Uta to be a new member of Blue Blazes after they saw her prior monkey like behaviours and after seeing her training with Hibiki might just be why they let her participate in this one, so i guess they're not against girls in parkour or Battlekour.

One the most forgettable movies ever. The main character is a typical kid who is really good at what he does and a sociopath that doesn't get along with others. The mysterious girl who comes and changes his world... A mysterious bubble race... No plot that got explained.... Movie ends... I swear just because its an anime poeple give it a pass... This should be rated 1/10

I think you didn't quite get the movie then, everyone can have their opinion, but I personally disagree. The plot may be confusing and there is indeed no explanation where the bubbles came from and yes it's that typical love story, but that doesn't mean it is bad. A lot of great fantasy movies and anime have a lot of plot holes and are confusing at times and follow a basic love story. The reason I do like this movie is because of it's original concept and stunning visuals and the use of music. When it comes to characters not everything is perfect, but I'd give it a solid 9/10 because it was really enjoyable to watch. And in case you don't get my point think about movies like a whisker away or you name, they give more explanation but at times still very vague, basic love story and the characters ain't too unique either, but it works perfectly.

I enjoy discussing movies with movie lovers so thank you. There was an ani.e that executed this far more better called the wind of amnesia or a w ind named amnesia. This movie was purely based off of the little mermaid -the classic one not the disney version- so no it was not that vague to me. But this anime was being vague for the sake of it and I didn't feel the writer had a good logic behind it. Unlike many other vague Anime I seen before which it serves a purpose and make the story even greater. You see even if it is vague writers will throw in hints in the world for you to decipher and have your own conclusions. While here there was nothing. It was typical mermaid story. I agree about the mad gorgeous visuals and the music though. But still, the story for my humble opinion was flat. Thank you for opening a conversation.
