The train model you were riding was actually a Siemans SD-160. The SD-100s UTA uses, have roller signs while the SD-160s have the LCD signage. Also the doors and headlights have some slight difference. The SD-160s were the second batch of LRVs UTA purchased as part of the construction and opening of the Red line (UofU Medical Center to Daybreak).

Oops and thank you! I kept thinking about the SD-100 but it is corrected. Also, thank you for brief history between SD-100s and SD-160s.

Hey, UTA TRAX Operator here. The car he was riding on actually was an SD-100. The SD-160's have the sliding doors, the SD-100's have the accordion doors

What’s up, man! Glad that you had the chance to ride those older light rails. By the way, were you able to ride Provo Orem MAX BRT yet? They use New Flyer XDE60 to operate for the BRT line. Also, my new Route 16 westbound ride to Pembroke Lakes Mall has been posted. Feel free to check it out, when you got the chance to. 🙂
