He stayed local at Sacramento State, and dominated in FCS. He transferred to ASU after Troy Taylor left Sacramento State for Stanford. He's a nice kid. He works really hard on his game, is highly coachable, and is respectful. His big brother played fullback at Bowling Green back in the day.

He’s been in college for a decade now, and every year I hear “If Cam Rising hadn’t gotten injured, Utah would have won the national championship!” What is ESPN’s obsession with Utah? They beat Florida to start the season a few years ago when neither team had realistic championship odds, and the ESPN “pundits” all ranked them as their fourth playoff team. When they beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, Alabama didn’t want to be there. They had just lost their chance to play in the NCG and had a bunch of opt-outs. When they beat Pittsburgh in the Fiesta Bowl, Pitt was one of the worst automatic qualifiers in history. Utah has NEVER been good. It’s all a smokescreen. They are a mid-major. Why were they favored to win the Big 12 this season? I picked Kansas State confidently. Even if Cam Rising wasn’t 100% tonight, he just lost to an Arizona State team that had a projected win total of 4.5 in Vegas. I give credit to Scatterbo and the ASU QB, but enough with this Utah nonsense. I’m sure the same people who have been gassing up Utah are the ones who said TCU belonged in the championship game against Georgia. There’s a reason these schools were mid-majors not too long ago. You really wanted to see this weak Utah team get thumped by Ohio State, Texas, or Georgia in a playoff situation? Smh

It’s called stupid play calls. I wonder if Whittingham knows on third down or fourth and six, that it’s perfectly acceptable to throw the ball 10 yards instead of 4 yards. It’s OK to throw into the end zone, but send more than one receiver so that it’s a little bit harder to cover. You don’t have to go for it every time on 4th down. And stop playing differently inside the 30. Sheesh.

Every year we do this with Utah. Overhype them only for them to choke and their fans to say “oH wElL iF cAm RiSiNg WaS hEaLtHy”. Haven’t won a bowl game since what, 2018? Their only accomplishment is beating Lincoln Riley’s soft USC teams. And don’t give me that “oh well, they won the PAC 12 back to back”, Washington was the better team with the better record in 2022, but they got snubbed for Utah in the conference championship due to the PAC’s bs tiebreaker rule.

I said at the start of the year I said 5 wins would be considered a great step in the right direction. I certainly did not expect 5-1 to start the season with our only loss to a solid 5-1 TTU squad. What a show by both RBs. Skattebo is hard carrying while Leavitt continues to develop and learn the game. All the faith in Dilly to steer this program in the right direction.

UofA lost to 2 good teams, though they shot themselves in foot against Texas Tech. T Mac is the star of the team but made a lazy one-handed TD grab attempt when he should’ve laid out or at least jumped for it. Then his fumble at the end of the game. UofA is still a much better team than what their record shows

Utah is not what they said they were coming into the Big 12, neither was ASU, but ASU in a good way. Arizona is what was expected. Tech was told we were lucky to play ASU instead of Utah in the offseason and we were, because now we have a quality win over a good ASU team instead of a win over a paper tiger Utah struggling to e bowl eligible with a weak non con schedule. Scattebo is the 2nd best RB in the Big 121 behind Brooks and they are very similar runners.

Sadly I'm not that surprised. Utah has good players and they're physical, but the reality is Utah just doesn't have the outside talent to be a dominant team this year. They lose one on one match-ups all the time. Those transfer portal gains just didn't pay off.
