Great job! what was the software etc. that was used for vocal editing?

+MrAvalancheTech The singing was created using software called UTAU! It's a vocal synthesis engine that processes prerecorded voice samples into singing, using a piano-roll interface where you input notes, lyrics and modify pitch/vibrato and other stuff. It's a great deal like Vocaloid, if you're more familiar with that, but freeware and open so anyone can record a "voicebank" and put their virtual singer out for public download and use. The UTAU voice I used here is named Tony Yonné (since most UTAU creators, inspired by Vocaloids, make character avatars to go with their voicebanks). (And I used Reaper for mixing, haha)

It's a unique style of Japanese music that kind of mixes pop-ballad with traditional elements? It's usually slow, sentimental, and the singing has a lot of interesting vibrato and such.

If you're interested, there's actually a Vocaloid and a few CeVIO that have voicebanks made specifically for enka style music! The Vocaloid is Sachiko (voiced by the really famous enka singer Sachiko Kobayashi) and the CeVIO voices are Ginsaki Yamato, Kinzaki Koharu, and HAL-O-ROID.
