I used to complain some Berryz Kobo songs had unfair line distribution... then I listened to this and I must say, it really makes honor to its title, because I was SHOCKed. Berryz Kobo was a lot like "Risako, Miyabi, Momoko, Yurina and the Berryz" for a good part of their singles, C-ute was like "Megumi, Airi, Maimi and the C-ute girls" in the beginning, then great Megumi left and the group morphed into "Airi, Maimi and the C-ute girls", then this single came and it was "Airi and her C-ute backup dancers", how fortunate it was only for this single because even though Airi is a great singer, she's supposed to be in a group not being a soloist... And she's not the only great singer in the group. I like this song very much (the instrumental sounds very nice) but I'm still not too comfortable with only Airi singing because this is a single, not a b-side or album song. Too bad because I think this is one of C-ute's less flawed (early) MV's, even with its simple shots and editing, it has a good setting, great outfits and good choreography, only Maimi's hairstyle is off here (her short hair is cute when straight, not so much when it's puffy).
This song was really a turning point for C-ute. After this, the line distribution got so much better! Anyways, please remember that C-ute are professionals after all, and not everything in showbusiness is fair.

*For those who may not know this about the song* In their final interview they revealed that they started to become stress and worried at the longevity of the group. In 2009, both Kanna and Erika left and Megumi in 2006. This was released in 2010. My guess is that Airi, the strongest vocalist was to try to push the single to go through with the lost members. They were, at the time, compared two 2 year group of S/mileage to their 5 year at the time so Airi had a lot to work with. (Imo, the group really lost their other next strongest vocalist Megumi. The rest are just okay. Hence why Airi got most the lines from Megumi or got spread to ease the burdens.) After this, they focused more on dance than the music. Probably to not overwork Airi lol. So that's why they didn't give the other girls any lines. Tldr; Girls thought of disbanding at 5 members, used this single with Airi lead as the final push, was able to continue thanks to it. Tldr;tldr; The song that saved C-ute.

maimi is a strong vocalist as well but her voice works better on mature music than the cutesy stuff since she has a lower tone. she was even the lead on their indie debut "massara blue jeans". and regarding why only airi got lines in this song is not only due to her vocal skill but her popularity, otherwise i believe maimi's voice would have suited the track as well but of course they had to take drastic measures in order to stay afloat as a group so they had airi do the heavy lifting

You're forgetting that Kanna left under pretty bad circumstances, hence why there was more pressure and anxiety on this song succeeding. Maimi had pretty equal lines with Airi in earlier songs. Maimi's voice is very good but I think Airi was the most popular hence why Airi was practically the soloist here, to not take any risks so to speak. This is all conjecture though.
