Watching these series one learns how important it is not to panic. uThermal even provides education after games showing that if the opponent had simply not panicked and over-reacted to the appearance of the Planetary the game was essentially theirs to loose. Lesson learned.

The reaper man himself does it again! Honestly I never doubted he'd get to GM with this one, having free rein in terms of units apart from PF early is proving its worth. And the mix of strats is real nice, throwing/baiting units into the PF while macroing behind. Awesome stuff.

I just had a very risky and yolo idea. Proxy the Cc for the PF as usual but also proxy an engineering bay (making a second at home is a good idea). Make marines When you’re ready to build the planetary float the engineering bay in too and cap the natural. The marines can attack from behind the wall. This is most likely to work against Zerg. May need to build a supply depot on site to help cap.

thinking, marauders are pretty cheap on gas (4:1), tanky, and non-light - they could be useful around ghosts for soaking up banelings (and bonus damage + slowing vs banes too)

I think there's a pattern where the planetary rushes work MUCH better against Protoss because they don't have creep, and not enough units to protect their workers while blocking the CC... We keep seeing them either focusing on stopping the CC and losing all their probes, or protecting at least some probes and then having no response when the PF is up. Most of these games that go long are against Zerg, because they can at least try to maneuver around it. Whereas Protoss CAN'T survive if you're blasting down their tech buildings with the PF or burning all their probes while they're attacking the CC.
