Fantastic effort completing the loop. It was very nice to meet and run with you on the Wednesday run. Keep up the great work. I'll be in NZ for your suggestion of running Tarawera in 2024.

Thanks, Ashley. It was neat meeting you on the Wednesday shakeout and good to hear you are coming to NZ for Tarawera! Are you doing the 100km or 100miler?

Absolutely epic, well done Chris. Great video too. We watched the live stream of the leaders but you don't get a sense of scale with them. The number of people on some of those climbs😮 and the views and height of those passes. Thanks for sharing it with us

Thanks Phillippa. The number of runners was crazy at the start but it thinned out after the first night. It was an awesome experience 😎

What was your largest mile training week going into this? Anything you would do different a second time? Congrats on the amazing accomplishment.
@kiwitrailruns7656 Жыл бұрын
At my peak training, I did some 120km weeks with around 4000m of climbing. I was definitely fit enough but next time I would concentrate more on my nutrition. I needed to consume more calories during the race as not everything at the aid stations was agreeing with me. It is a complicated race to manage in terms of nutrition, effort and getting some rest.
