It's so much fun to watch these kids go at it with each other. Only thing I dislike seeing is undisciplined hands on a lot of the OL's. A lot of overt holding that'll cost you huge when it counts. It could just be because this is just a 1v1 showcase and the habits aren't translating, I just hope they square that technique away in the game situations. Sadly, some of the most talented players on the field, you will never know until their name/number is called for a holding penalty. Some real talented kids here on both sides of the ball, next generation of physical college linemen! Bring on Fall!!!

@Fluffy2Buffy Жыл бұрын
As a former d tackle (nose tackle and end) it’s never been a real competition between OL and DL, the majority of teams will put there most athletic Big boys on the defensive line to produce pressure so even back when we used to do bags and boards drills back in the day it really was never a competition. D lineman are usually a lot more fast twitch fiber and have better balance then their brother on the other side of the line. I used to go to speed camp with Brian Bulaga of the packers and it’s not that he was stronger or much bigger then everyone else, what made him pro ready was his balance. That’s the true hallmark of a pro ready O lineman. Being able to get rushed but still keep your weigh below your hips and be able to rebound with control

AS A LINEMAN, I started every play with an impact. Somebody's getting hit. As a pass pro or rush. You have to know situations. DOWN And Distance. 90 percent of the time you are fighting to control gaps. 10 percent is something like this drill where you get a magic one on one senatio.
