Shoutout game network 4 the stream they had regular cams, a cam on each sideline getting into huddles/picking up audio and AJ greene doing interviews. BAFFLING coaching decisions by both teams in the 4th quarter SFA put in the FRESHMAN QB on the 2 most important drives of the game???? Very tough defensive game. My take on SFA's offense was confirmed once again. Their biggest problem is the Center. The snaps were too low most of the time. On the turnover plays that turned into touchdowns for Mater Dei, the snaps were low. On the sacks, the snaps were low. Against a hard charging D-line like Mater Dei's, that kind of inefficiency will cost you dearly. Take away MD's pick 6 and scoop n' score and you have an even game. SFA's snapping woes were especially evident in their first game against Buford. They resulted in 7 interceptions and a total beatdown. On SFA's best offensive plays, including their one touchdown, the snaps were just right. SFA's defense kept the game close. They made MD's offense look ineffectual for three and a half quarters. Props to them, they kept SFA from getting embarrassed at home.

@@510slick I'm glad somebody is challenging me on this. Execution of the play begins with the center. If the snap is too low, the quarterback can't direct the play in time or get in rhythm. SFA is playing against the best defenses in the country, so there is something to be said about that. Even in best case scenarios, blocks can only be sustained so long. The defenses also have time to read where the play is going. The quarterback cannot direct the action on the field if he's struggling to get control of the ball. He can't get ahead of the defense. A quarterback and a running back can always elude tacklers if they have a jump on the defense. Also, when SFA had better control of the ball they were able to gain yards and even score. I watched highlights of the Buford game and it was bad snap after bad snap. It was painful to watch. They were a little bit better with Mater Dei, but the Monarchs still got two turnover scores on SFA's low snaps. If they fix that one problem, they'll have better outcomes, not perfect, but better.

SFA's O-line has its issues, but then, the defenses on their schedule would probably make 98% of all high school O-lines look silly. One point, I did not make before is I think the bad snapping may also play into the overall morale of the offense. I would like to know if improvements over center would lead to better blocking from the O-line. I just see that it all starts with the center.

This game looked pretty sloppy to me, on both sides: multiple lost fumbles, scoop-and-scores, interceptions, muffed punt returns. A LOT of turnovers, and that's not all. There were very poorly thrown balls as well. This was obviously not a great game by EITHER team. While it's hard to judge because we can't see the whole game, I'd say this affected MD much more than it affected SF. This is also evidenced in the score, which was a defensive score. MD's offense never really got on track, and doesn't compare with their otherwise high offensive output. That is, in terms of MD's typical offensive point total, this was a 2nd rate or even third rate effort. But, a "W" is a "W."

This game was way closer then people think , if you take away the seriously lucky defensive plays(one of which the quarterback literally fumbled) the game was only 7-7, the only offense score MD had was with 38 seconds left in the game. Mind you they already had the ball in SF red zone when they scored because SF they went for it on fourth down. Says a lot when you look at how Buford handled SF.
