I am not sure if power amp is GaN based or maybe GaA. IISC has to tech to build GaN power ICs and had plans to have a GaN fab but I think GoI didnt seem interested. We need to start fabrication plans for GaN for next generation power electronics.

A couple of questions though , you said the AMCA radar would have 360 coverage, does that mean it'll be able to look backwards as well? Also is liquid cooling better than air cooling ? because it'll add to the weight for sure.

Can parts of the radar be switched on and off to conserve power? Can we use a super capacitor to store power and then in one glimpse take a snapshot? I stay very close to Defense Lab Clusters in Banglore. Most of the defense establishtments are nearyby. HAL airport which tests LCA Tejas. LRDE for RADAR. GTRE for Kaveri engine. HAL Aerospace which manufactures for ISRO and ADA. Most of the times you can hear LCA testing or Helicopter testing flights going on. These establishments have matured a lots and is a boon to the tech talent pool in Bangalore.

What a great explanation.. But there are two problems.. Vary big problem.. 1) It is KLJ7-A, Not "KJL7" There are also official hints from PAF of JF17 getting LKF601e or Leonardo Grifo-E AESA Radars.. 2) All three radars are already produced, and are in testing to finalisation phase, while "Uttammam-Dhaddadaat-Paadam Radar" is only on paper 🤣🤣🤣

This is impossible bro(atleast up to a decade)... Because the most powerful Rader in the world i.e AN/APG-77 of F22 Raptor has detection range of 200-240km for 1m2 RCS object (That too after having 2000TR modules)... So getting a range of 350km for 2m2 RCS target with a Rader having 1500-1700TR modules(AMCA's Rader will have these numbers of TR modules) is not practically possible

Hi Amit, you make very good videos. I have a question on su30mki upgradation. India has faced huge problems with supply of components and hence can we afford to upgrade existing sukhois with russian al41 engine, advanced aesa radar and EW suite because the problems will be the same. Can HAL upgrade Su30mki with advanced Uttam radar(to be developed for amca by 2023), Indian or israeli EW suite and any american engine like GE 110 since the engine dimensions are more of less the same and has high thrust (thrust vectoring will have to be added). Does any contractual obligation with Russia prevent India from using American or European tech (especially engine) on Su30mki

Saturn AL-31 replaced with GE F-404 ? it has 1.5 times thrust ( dry as well as wet ). Air force is already asking for more powerful engines. you can't fit a bulldozer with a truck engine ! furthermore, I don't think that GE will give F 414 -400 at a lower cost than AL-41 even.

based on this data, let us say Tejas is very very very very very stealthy, with RCS only 0.5 m², so everybody is happy, however, Tejas is not a private jet, it needs to carry weapons to work, we are saying Tejas is very very very very very powerful, it carries 6 air-air missiles, so it can shoot down F-16, JF-17, J-20 J-10 or the moon, now RCS of Tejas jumps to 10 m². so all others can detect it over 200 km. again, Tejas has no missile can reach that far, so Tejas just wait there watching all the missiles from its enemy to come to itself and pilot get ready to drink delicious tea in Pakistan or in China now tell me, why we need all those basic mechanics or calculations If you cannot deal with the simple fact, will the basic mechanics of how AESA or PESA work help anything in here??
