मैडम आपकी जानकारी में बहूत अपूर्णता है..मैं जौनसार के चकराता क्षेत्र का रहने वाला हूं..पहली बात ये है कि जब हमारे जौनसार में लड़की का किसी लड़के से विवाह सुनिश्चित हो जाता है तो रस्म के तौर पर लड़के पक्ष की तरफ से लड़की पक्ष में रूपया छोडने की एक रस्म अदायगी की जाती है ,जो पहले एक रुपया, पांच रुपया भी हुआ करती थी..अब भी कुछ ही रुपये की रस्म आदायगी करके रुपया छोड़ा जाता है.! और यदि लडकी और लड़का भविष्य में एक दूसरे से अलग हो जाते हैं तो यदि लडकी पक्ष वालों ने लड़की को दहेज दिया हो ( घरेलू उपयोग की वस्तुओं के रूप में) तो वो दहेज और कुछ धन राशी लड़के पक्षृ वाले को लड़की पक्ष को स्थानीय कानूनी व्यवस्था के तहत देने होते हैं तब लड़की और लड़का दोनों कानूनी रूप एक दूसरे से अलग हो जाते है.

Your information is not correct These poeple of Juansar Bawar are of KHas Origin. The Khas poeple are of Caucasian origin in Ural mountains .There is a famous saying in Juansar bawar Jaska Dhhan taska Khaan nee honda meaning the never take burden on the donor person who donate bcoz Khas poeple are proud poeple they never burden the relative . As per customs girl side has always been consider the higher than boys side. Every father has to bow before the girls father by offering the silver coin in order to arrange the bride for his son. As girl is given in form of kaniya daan so it is bridegroom side who entertain the girl side poeple to show their gratitude towards girls clan.The khas poeple are pride poeple they respect the donor and never let the donor to be burdened.They have very high moral and ethical value system in their culture. where as , we who are in plain areas consider girls side as lower to boys side and also burdened the girls side with barrat and dowry system. Once I have a debate with my friends on the issue that why juansaris donot marry in other societies. A very blunt reply came from a old man that there is a lot of difference in culture value system so adjustment in relationship become difficult.

नही मैडम ये गलत है। जब शादी होती है तो कोई पैसे नही लिए जाते।परंतु यदि लड़की पहले पति को छोड़ती है तो पहला पति छूट के बदले कुछ पैसे लेते थे जो उसका शादी में खर्च हुआ होता है। पहल बार शादी होने पर कोई पैसा नही लिया जाता था। अब तो छूट प्रथा भी करीब करीब समाप्ति की ओर है। छूट का मुख्य कारण था बालविवाह जो अब नही होते।

Jaunsar- Bawar was a part of sirmaur Kingdom at one point of time, which is now sirmaur district in Himachal pradesh. It is the border area of Garhwal region in Uttarakhand. Later, It was captured by Garhwal rulers. Garhwal King Mahipat or Mahipati Shah sent Army General Lodi Rikhola to stop looting in Dehradun valley. The looters from Sirmaur region (Himachal Pradesh) were disturbing subjects of Doon valley. Capable administrator and a warrior Lodi Rikhola was called upon to put an end to this mischief by the looters of Sirmaur, who were plundering in Doon valley very frequently. Lodi Rikhola captured the forts of Kalsi Garh, Jaunsar (old capital of Sirmaur), Kani Garh, Bairat Garh and other nearby forts. After that, Sirmaur King Mat Prakash or Mandhata Prakash could never free those forts from Garhwal Kingdom. According to Bhakt Darshan, Lodi Rikhola threw the looters of Sirmaur out from Garhwal region with brave and cruel methods. Lodi Rikhola entered into Sirmaur region and killed the looters and their leaders. Due to his terror in Sirmaur, the king swore to stop looters going to Garhwal. In 1829, Jaunsar-Bawar was incorporated in Chakrata tehsil, prior to which it had been a part of Punjab state of Sirmur, until the British conquered it along with Dehradun after the 1814 war with the Gurkhas.
