The hills located in the north-eastern region of India are called Purvanchal Hills. This is the eastern extension of the Himalayas.
The hills of Purvanchal include:
Patkai Hills
Manipur Hills
Barail range
mizo hills
naga hills
Aka Hills
Dafla Hills
Miri Hills
Mishmi Hills
The hills of Purvanchal are formed by the same process as the Himalayas, but are not as high as the Himalayas.
Meghalaya is the most remote place on earth because of the Khasi Hills.
The Khasi Hills are a part of the Garo-Khasi Range. It is named after the Khasi tribe, which is found in this region.
Cherrapunji is located in the East Khasi Hills.
Lum Shillong is the highest peak near Shillong.
