I feel so bad for Tessa: this poor kid just wanted to save a disposed robot (Cyn,) from the trash, and then the Absolute Solver fully corrupted Cyn, turned N, V, And J into killing machines, had them wipe out all humans on earth, including Tessa, and then wore her flesh like a skin suit. It's horrifying.

I'm pretty sure Uzi's been freed from Cyn's control? And I love how they snapped her out of it. N admitting that he and Uzi were "hanging out" got Nori to reprimand her, and Uzi's own resentment towards authority was too powerful for Cyn. I guess no one's more stubborn than a rebellious teenager.

Spoilers for the episode. Tessa got done so dirty, the poor girl just wanted to make friends with robots but accidentally took in an eldritch monstrosity that killed her entire species and turned her into skin suit a la micheal afton. She probably died as a child too based on her height :( N also got a pretty generous serving of trauma this episode, not only are 2/3 of his childhood friends dead (V pending, im still holding on hope she lived ;-;) Uzi sacrificed herself for him, he found out he helped genocide the entire human race on earth, and worst of all his mother in law disapproves of him, poor guy

It kept n v and j around with their original personalities twisted as they may have become. And didn’t out right kill Tessa until she broken into the Galla to stop her. Even then it couldn’t let her go. Kinda like making a monkeys paw or making a deal with a demon which plays a lot to the possession theme of this episode.

The planet isn't destroyed, those rocks are a saturn-like ring around it. The big part in the middle is the planet, still intact. And I can't wait to see if they save it in the finale. Also, I love how Yeva's playing Tetris on her display screen when we first see her. Perfect.

Admittedly a pet peeve of mine is people saying Cyn’s the villian. She isn’t, the Absolute Solver that took over her was. I actually feel quite bad for her. She was a defective drone that was improperly disposed of and later pulled out of the garbage by Tessa. We can’t tell she must’ve admired her given her outfit, especially the bow on the back of her head, resembles Tessa. Unfortunately she tended to be mistreated by Tessa’s folks and characters by J, insulted and locked in the basement as a time out(only person who actually cared about her is N, since he tends to care for the people no one else would). The solver already was inside her, but this treatment allowed it to fully corrupt her without hope to free her. It used her body to corrupt the other drones into being mindless killing machines, and murder the humans she worked under including the one she seemed to actually care out. It then made her wear Tessa as a suit in this creepy hybrid and due to the circumstances, everyone assumes she’s the bad guy instead of another victim. Tessa and Doll are incredibly tragic openly(and I can write an essay on the tragedy of V) but Cyn is a character I’ve always felt bad for

Since this is the "erm akshually" thread then I'll go ahead and state this: Cyn IS the Solver. Tessa named her Cyn because thats the only legible part of her armband, all the drones marked for disassembly have one. The host was never named Cyn, that was exclusively used to refer to the already possessed drone, ie: the Solver. She also seems to fully embrace this name since Nori calls her Cyn and she would have no way of knowing that name if she was never aware of the host drone or the events at the Eliott Manor, which means Cyn herself (again, the Solver) must've communicated this either to Nori or to the researchers who wrote it down as her preferred way to be addressed. Additionally, "Tessa" consistently refers to the Solver as Cyn, and as we now know, that IS Cyn. The only time the host drone is ever referred to as Cyn is by "Tessa" when showing N the footage of Earth, and if she's aware of the fact that Cyn is the host drone then why continue to refer to the Solver as Cyn? Well, because the Solver is indeed Cyn.

14:02 It's because the USB crosses contain a software patch that keeps Syn from taking them over, while allowing them to retain their Absolute Solver abilities. It's like a Windows Update thing. (So yes, they're using a cross to drive out Syn / sin. 🙄😸 Laying the Christian allegory on a bit thick there, but whatever.) According to that console list Tessa accessed, Yeva had the patch applied at some point before we see her. Nori then gets the patch applied when she gets stabbed with the MacGuffin cross. But I guess the patch didn't transfer to their kids. So now they need the cross too... if there are any left.

there's something that has me very confused and haven't seen anyone discuss it, so in the flashback Nori told N, we see that the [Null] hole Nori had on her hand was thrown into the cathedral abyss, and that's how the Earth was half destroyed, but the cathedral is on Copper 9 (the planet where the show happens), not on Earth, so... is Copper 9 actually the Earth???

That was really confusing to me as well. The shots we get of Copper 9 from space all show an abnormally large moon, like Earth's, as well as other solar system objects that, while too close for hard science fiction realism, do look like they could be the Sol system. Complicating this is the fact that we have very clearly indicated off-planet travel and other signs that it can't be confined entirely to Earth (as far as I can tell). I find it interesting that one of the signs in the flashbacks indicates that the humans have no idea where the cathedral came from, it was just there when they arrived. This suggests something strange like a lost human civilization / outpost. I suppose in the end it could be a matter of a lost colony being returned to after everybody had been wiped out and the show creators just using very Earth-like / Sol-system-like assets / designs for the Copper system.

For me, this episode brings up so many questions. Did N make it to the surface and escape? Did Uzi's dad and friends kill J? How did Uzi get into orbit? What about V? As tough as she was, she would have survived those raptors easily. Is Nori dead now? What will become of Cyn after she consumes the planet's core? What is up with the murder drones clones (poet didn't know it, LOL)?

This episode was great and so hard to follow. I wish the flash backs made a better effort to make clear which purple haired character is which. What happened with Tessa and Cyn is so unclear; how are other viewers able to make the conclusions they make? It doesn’t help that cyn/absolute solver is able to project illusions; I treat every major development like it’s going to be a bait and switch. I guess I’m just going to have to do another rewatch of the whole series.
