UTV takeover Friday night ride

Night ride on the Coos Bay Oregon dunes. The front ends up being a battle to be right behind the lead car. With my kids in the car I like to take things a bit easier. The only issue is that you run into some bottleneck slowdowns. Average speed when not stopped was somewhere between 30 in the corners and 40-60 in the straight of ways.

I remembered you without even going back and watching the video. What type of aftermarket suspension do you have on that rig. I've got a 2013 wrangler that I'd like to handle better on the dunes.

Yes, two gopro 10s. Their software for smoothing out the video has come a long ways.

Never been there, but I did have a season pass at The Badlands in Attica Indiana. Perks of being friends with the owner. Lol. We’d close the gate, Tuen security on, and we’d ride til dawn more often than not.

For those have already been. Paddles 100% or is there also dirt terrain where we should just air down regular tires for the dunes?

No dirt anywhere. open spaces and trails are 100% sand. Paddles will make a difference but you can get away with airing down your tires.

I was always told the front was full of crazies. I don't want to be in the top 20 but I'd like to be in the first 100 this year to avoid the traffic jams. Are you going next week?

There is one week out of the year that it's this busy. The nice thing about this many people is you know there won't be traffic coming head on from the other direction. But it's fun the other times of the year as well.

@@ufciceman8975 yes, they do. I would suggest coos bay if your renting. I think they run 220/hr or 800 for a day. However, if you come to utv takeover you can test drive each machine with the three different companies. You'll probably end up running at a faster speed too with someone guiding you to show you what these things can do.

There are concerns of drinking and driving which is why they put a 10:00pm curfew on this year's event. That way they had probable cause to pull over anyone they wanted after that time. To my knowledge no one was hurt this year or last year from drinking and driving. But regardless, drinking and driving is wrong which caused the need for the curfew.

Big events like these offer free 30 minute test drives. It's a planned route but they go at a pretty good pace.

Are you following the guy in the YXZ who had the under carriage lights that matched his whips? They are very cool. I drove in this in 2021 with my 17 year old grandson following me on his KFX 450. I was no nervous. It is very intense. Great video.

I'm sure there was at least one. However, the driver would sure take a beating if they were trying to keep with the flow of traffic. Completely different suspension setup.

2 GoPro 10's. I edited it so the audio came from the back camera only. This masked the music that was playing in the car.
