Yes exactly while police waited in hallways, you waited in your living room, feeling, "anger, frustration, sadness guilt and a ton more of emotions" from the warmth of your safe recliner chair. Whatever Khloe's call did for you, it also made you responded almost a year after the Robb Elementary Massacre on a youtube forum, which also describes your level of concern and urgency. Children don't go to school to be accidently killed by armed police officers or mentally ill teenagers with assult rifles. They go to school to learn. All schools and doors were designed to be secured and safe before the massacre, not after. This was supposed to be stopped at the congress, school security, safety, regulations and policy level. This country wasn't built by folks sitting in their chairs and wars weren't fought by making a youtube comment. Citizens need to stand up and fight against terror. Not sit down and blame.

It’s like one time my mom said sometimes she still remembers seeing a person’s head without a body in her country when she was a young girl, as back then there were so much war, and like the 9/11 as well, I remember when I was 6 or 7, I saw some smoke in the air coming from Manhattan and so I saw some of it flying in the air passing by Brooklyn. So imagine witnesses like Khloie to this day, this kind of event is impossible to forget even if life goes on, it just remains deeply.

As a service member, I am beyond disgusted. Do you endanger the kids by engaging the killer in the class? Yes, but he has already escalated the situation to the point where you need to get in and take his attention away from the children. Put your life on the line or get out of the way. These officers were more scared than those parents were. These people are what we call tacticool people. All bark no bite.
@_CatBug_

@@gordsruby5963 you're one of those chair warriors. None of what you said represents how to handle an active threat. The decision making process has never changed so it goes to show how you're not a service member. What I did learn as a service member was how quickly to asses a situation and identify a threat. Not sure why you think the idea of a school being a safe place is relevant in an active shooter situation but go off. I can tell that with 100% certainty there were casualties and people with GSWs. The shooter wasn't taking hostages and that was quite obvious, but it's clear you weren't trained at all. It's funny how fast you can identify a pogue. Reactive firing and target identification is combat 101. They had enough information to go in and save lives. Funny how people like you are still trying to defend the tacticool donut eating idiots that pretended to be law enforcement that day. Some us "service members" were trained to engage the target and shoot accurately in real life while others like you sit behind a screen playing call of duty. Some people run toward danger while others standby and pick grass. You're def one of the liberal sheep who blames guns and not the person. I'll keep making comments and criticizing this event as well as others because I can and have. There is no law that you cant bozo 🤣 This is an event that some of us are passionate about and it's also a primary example of what not to do in an active shooter event as a LEO. You talk about pride and backing things up but it sounds like you're the one who has ego issues. I agree that you cant trust a lazy American KZbin stay at home citizen, so stay safe in that chair kiddo, daddy will protect you.

Not all of them are to blame - the leaders are the ones to blame & anyone who did not pass on crucial information or act on the information given in the first few minutes. People in law enforcement HAVE to follow orders. They can't just go running into situations and doing what they want or it could go even more pear shaped than this & get more kids killed. They also can't let parents and civilians run into a deadly situation. Command and control of emergency situations like these is extremely clear (it's the same in the ambulance where I work) - the most senior police officer on scene is the scene controller until a manager of suitable rank (ie police chief, equivalent or higher) arrives on scene, then THEY are to set up a forward command & liaise with other services as they arrive. The ambulance should have done the same - the most senior clinician should set up a command post until the scene is safe &/or a manager arrives and then should triage patients according to basic triage categories (walking wounded, significant injury but stable, unstable and require urgent intervention/transport, deceased) & relay that information to the senior officer who takes over as the ambulance commander & organises transport of the patients to triage zones for treatment and then transport to hospitals. 377 police officers to a single shooter is ridiculous btw! If the first officers on scene had continued into the scene and treated him like an active shooter (which does unfortunately mean they would have had to continue under fire since they were getting shot at), doing their best to take him down as fast as possible, then the whole thing could hopefully have been over in minutes. The police chief is the most at fault (second to the shooter) by treating it like a negotiation. He misread and mishandled the situation. And the other senior officer that did not pass on the information that there was a child calling from inside the building. I can guarantee that most of those officers were desperate to go inside but couldn't so they do not deserve the vilification that the ones truly responsible deserve. Even then... the sad fact of life is that people are human & make mistakes - even senior officers. Plenty of senior officers who are trained to know better have made more deadly errors in numerous wars and emergencies over the centuries. The people that f'd up should have been honest about their errors immediately after the event instead of trying to lie about it. And the politicians that tried to make it seem like it was a heroic success should also resign for lying their a**es off. But tbh the people who deserve the most anger and hate are the FITH people who think it's ok to take a gun into a school because they're unhappy with their own life & the fluffing politicians who refuse to do anything about sensible gun laws so they don't lose votes. Not the majority of cops who DO risk their lives running towards the gunfire yet are constrained by command & control structures.

This whole thing is absolutely heart wrenching. What especially got to me was the 911 call with the girl counting the survivors and saying she’s surrounded by bodies and begging for help because her teacher was about to die and the fact that she smeared blood on her, the teacher who lost all of his students, and the teacher who was initially blamed for the shooter getting in even though she desperately tried to protect people, which especially got to me because she looked so much like one of my teachers and reminds me of her. I may live all the way in Washington state and knew nobody related to this massacre but I sure as hell will NEVER forget this tragedy. Because of Uvalde, when I become an engineer I want to create technology that will somehow protect people in situations of gun violence, especially in schools. I don’t know how I’ll do it, I just know I won’t let anything stop me from getting there, because if we can’t fully trust the police to protect innocent souls from a shooter nor the government to start passing stricter gun laws on a federal level, then one of the last potential barriers we have is technological advancement and it’s a race against time

Those school doors were outdated, a problem in most public schools in America. There was also a kid who was shot after a responding officer said “yell if you need help” with the shooter still active. Also all the stopping of parents and an officer trying to go in. And the female officer on camera saying if her kid was in there she wouldn’t be outside, “believe that” while staying outside. In my personal and professional opinion, this was a complete screw up on so many levels I can see why public confidence in Texas in law enforcement absolutely hit rock bottom, after this.

This whole thing is unspeakably evil. I can’t stop thinking about how traumatic it must have been for those kids waiting for help. They were in there for an hour!! Just imagine having to lay there in shock, full of panic, absolute fear, watching your friends and teachers being murdered and wondering if you’re next. I honestly think I would have died of shock, I would just have completely shut down. So much trauma for these innocent kids to bare for the rest of their lives. They were let down by so many people.

Every time i see this story I start seething with pure anger and immense sadness about the gross incompetence of all law enforcement that faithful day. I truly believe those parents could’ve did a better job at taking that monster down than those sorry a$$ cops. I really hurt for the families of the victims because I have no idea how my life would be saturated in deep sorrow and pain if i lost my grand kids at school in that way considering their parents send them to school every day. This year alone 67 mass shootings have happened in the US and it’s only mid Feb. Nothing will change until gun proponent politicians go through something like this with their own families in droves .

Yes... parents could have done a better job, but how many children in that classroom actually survived? How many parents in that classroom were able to take their child home with them? You all sat at home waiting for cops to do your job. You counted on teachers to secure doors, lawmakers to fix laws and cops to save children. But what was your job as a stay at home citizen? besides being pure angry and sad almost a year after the massacre. I mean assuming children don't go to school to be accidently gunned down by armed police officers of course. Assuming schools were designed to be safe before the massacre and not after. You litterally waited for a shootout at a school, for crying out loud, for Pete's sakes, and now your angry and sad! Lol imagine how the children felt! Imagine if they knew your plan of action was citizens waiting for cops. Again you waited for cops to save kids, how'd that work out for you. I have a solution for your problem don't look at a story if you're not willing to stand up and do something about it. Seething with pure anger and sadness months after a massacre is NOT your due diligence.

The fact that she had to go through that and had to be taught what to do if her classmates are being massacred is horrifying. I hope Khloe finds peace and I hope something is done about this issue soon because it is LONG overdue. I can't believe people are just letting this happen. Khloe and her classmates deserved better. @MR CM - I am so glad to read that you would those things to save others. I'm a 60-year-old woman, whose father was a cop and mother a nurse. My 3 siblings and I listened to our parents as they taught us what to in emergencies, and they led by example, helping those in distress when off the clock, and retired. I've called 911 a number of times, stepped into fights and broken them up (I'm 5'7") - once when I had a *leg cast on,* using *my cane* to pry the 2 apart. Only once was I injured by a guy throwing a punch at the victim, when he ducked, and I got slugged in the face (black eye). More than once, I've intervened when a man was verbally abusing his girlfriend in public, and each time, the guy stopped. My dad taught us kids (3 girls, 1 boy) some Judo, how to break a choke-hold, an attack from behind, and how to flip him (6', 200 lbs) when I was 14. My sibs and I practiced on each other in the yard or rec room. I took a handful of self-defense classes over the years since my thirties: *Krav Maga* (used by Isreali military), *Brazilian Ju Jitsu* and *Wen-do* (created for women, using leverage), but by no means am I an expert in any of them. ___________ 💪 💪 💪 ____________ I even demonstrated to a girlfriend (30 yrs ago), *_through a crack in the door,_* how to break her large, violent partner's grip on her arm, as I negotiated with him - and it worked! He settled down and both she and I convinced him to leave. She was terrified of him, but a few weeks later, she finally left him, with their 3-yr-old, and disappeared, after 4 yrs of being held prisoner, psychologically, by his threats and abuse. She called me her "guardian angel," though I'm atheist. ----------------🔥🔥🔥 ----------------- I've been in *3 house fires* (none my fault) - one in which I *_was trapped_* and got smoke inhalation. Like you, _I _*_would_*_ run into a burning building to save someone,_ just as my new boyfriend once did for me. I had PTSD for a year after that, and had panic attacks whenever I smelled something burning. __________ 🚑 🏥 🚔 ___________ I'm First Aid certified, and used it last year, when I helped a 70-yr-old man (a tourist) who'd fallen & sustained a concussion - and then his wife *fainted* from the heat - after I'd given him and her ice packs that I had with me (a humid, 90F summer day in the city) - until the ambulance arrived. They were confused but grateful. Also last summer, one night I found a man on the ground crying out for help. He'd fallen (bad leg), so I did the same thing, enlisting a passer-by to call 911, and help get him up and onto a bench until the ambulance arrived. They took him to hospital. A few years ago, I was on the scene when a 75-yr-old man *fell down the escalator* _with his _*_walker_* at Walmart. I asked a few young staff who were standing there, helpless, and a manager, if anyone knew first aid - no one did - so I *took charge,* assessing him, getting staff to call 911 and get something for his head. Paramedics thanked me when they took over. __________ 💖 👪 💝 ___________ Each time, I thought of my late parents and the _valuable lessons_ they taught and role-modelled - and how to *_step in*,_** and not ignore or walk away. More people need to **_take the initiative,_** *educate* and train themselves, *maintain situational awareness* (for personal safety) and *have compassion* for others. I'm so angry at the ineptitude, cowardice and lack of action, and later, accountability, of the 376 police officers and SWAT team, and those in command who failed those students and faculty. My father had marksmanshop trophies from police, yet he never fired his weapon in 32 years, in the largest city in Canada. He probably would've run in to the classroom to save those kids - f*ck the chain of command!

Because police themselves don't want to confront an AR 15. No new sales of AR 15. Enough. Repeal PLCAA and restore liability to gun manufacturers for their extremely dangerous products. Then you will see them turn into responsible corporate citizens, using gun safety protocols to demonstrate due diligence in court proceedings. Their own lawyers and insurance carriers will insist on mental health assessment and screening for each purchase, gun safes, permits, registration, training, age limits, etc. They will also end their irresponsible marketing strategies, such as advertising the AR 15 as "your man card." I don’t know how any of the officers that stood there and did nothing can live with their actions.

Wasn't their own kids. Too concerned about one of them getting killed. The person in charge energy was completely off for the situation at hand. He moved and acted like He just ate a huge lunch. His energy wasn't right at all for the situation at hand.

My heart hurts for the parents that lost their children that day. Mental Health is important and if you see anything online or in person that seems like they need help take them seriously. It could be that person cry for help. You could be that person's light. I pray they are healing well.

I generally support police officers but this is disgusting. This is literally your job. Back when I was in the marines if I was to do something like this I would be held accountable along with EVERYONE else involved. Take responsibility and the punishment. Even as a crane operator now if anything happens like damage, injury or even death you can bet I’ll be held responsible.

Those poor babies that did and didn’t make it! My heart breaks for those families! I hope that those Mom’s and Dad’s and siblings and grandparents know they are admired by a nation for how strong they are and how they have been able to put their own pain and despair aside to fight for justice for the babies and the teachers that were so unnecessarily lost that day. #UvaldeStrong ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've never seen a bigger bunch of cowards. They are paid to run toward the danger, but they were running away and hiding..for officer safety.

These citizens are supposed stop the gunmen before he gets to the school. That's how voting works, that's how writing your local congressman works. Schools are supposed to be safe before the gunman enters the classroom not after. You have your priorities mixed up. Nobody needs a recliner chair citizen, pointing fingers and placing blames. Children need your support, not your keyboard.

So what’s the point of making our police look tacti-cool and make them feel like they are a military branch if a 18 year old can scare off people with ballistic vests and bullet proof helmets

These poor children and teachers inside! 😭 I remember when this happened and they were initially blaming this teacher for leaving the door open and even then I knew as a teacher myself, this woman did NOT leave the door open. I just knew in my heart she didn’t do that. This was before it was proven as a fact. It was just something you can’t explain other than you would only understand if you are a teacher. Then as the investigation progressed we learned who the real people to blame were besides the gun man. It was those COWARDS that stood outside for over an hour while children were being murdered!
