Chris Dreisbach It's a radio frequency for military communications and they use the annoying buzzer thing to keep civilians from trying to use the frequency. The military probably doesn't have a "license" per se for that band, so they do weird shit to keep people off of it. I have no proof of this, it just seems so typically Russia that it probably IS what I am saying.

@TheVessapaperimuumio10 жыл бұрын
I like your theory. That would make a funnier and more interesting explanation than "just" Russian military and spy signaling. However, I just don't think so. Imagine pulling a prank involving radio broadcasts that appear to the local intel organizations like you were spying for a foreign country. Doing this in the Soviet Union. Carrying on for three decades. Not being murdered. Never. Not even once. Can you see that happening? Yeah, me neither.

TheVessapaperimuumio it's just a freq occupation indicator. they are commonly used by the north koreans and Chinese to name a few. Ran a parametric EQ, compressor, and bumped EQ at 600hz-2khz and dropped 32hz-500hz and 4khz-8khz to clean up the white noise and boost frequencies where your average human scream would be. Recorded @ 96KHz 1,400kbps bitrate PCM, which was pointless since the sample had compression artifacts. Equip: Modded X-Fi Platinum (upgraded with blackgate capacitors) -> Pimeta DIY headphone amp (Maxed version, also blackgate caps) -> Beyerdynamic DT-770 250ohm cans. The starting pitch modulates tone rapidly and the harmonics of the room (probably about 20x20 ft. if I was forced to estimate) immediately reflect the modulation with no delay or reverberation, this means the sound wasn't loud enough to be a scream, it was about as loud as normal spoken voice. From an audiophile/producer/sound and general music geek, it's not a scream, it's a very squeaky hinge of a heavy door opening.
@Hunne23039 жыл бұрын

For thosw of you who don't know, the screaming is whistling. The reason the broadcast buzzes (as always) is because the sound is generated by a machine next to an open microphone. Meaning that the microphone doesn't have an onn/off switch. Meaning that talking, whistling, and any other forms of noise not generated by the buzzer are possible to be broadcasted.
@micahnewman5 жыл бұрын
It's known that the buzzer generating device is miked acoustically, so the mic is picking up noises in the background. There are a lot of recorded instances like that.

Or the operators of the station are watching a movie or something in the background. There are several reports of hearing conversations, movies and moving of furniture in the background while listening to UVB-76. So nothing weird really, just some bored Russians. Also, the beep comes from a sound generator that is standing in front of the microphone. That's why the mic sometimes catches other sounds too.
@TheJackrocks18 жыл бұрын
Maybe it was movie night lol
@meonic83379 жыл бұрын
Note the conversation you can faintly hear before and after. The mystery behind it is creepy as shit, but the "scream," is more like a sound effect or something, it seems. If it's not a Radio Soap, then idk what it is.
@neodonkey9 жыл бұрын
The reason is because UVB-76 is an open mike sitting next to the buzzer (apparently the buzzer generates that sound mechanically). Many voices have been heard on it in the past, in one case an entire conversation. The picture in the video is the actual facility the station used to operate from and is now abandoned, the operators have moved to another base. There is a video of urban explorers going through the abandoned facility and they go through about 3 layers of cellars. It is like something out of silent hill. I'll try and dig out a link to it.

It just sounded like the radio-operator, or whoever was passing by the microphone (which seemed to be on at the time of this recording based on the other voices that could be heard) at that moment was whistling. In short: I don't think it was screaming, but just someone whistling within range of the microphone.

Spartan XII He reckons they ask him for help, things like "we need light" or "give us your light". Funny thing is, they don't ever say anything meaningful or profound. Just "help" and "we need light". I listen to some of his recordings and personally I believe in spirits and the spirit world, but asking for light thru his radio set, that's pushing my belief a bit too far? It's one of those things where he interprets some noises as voices, I think it's a bit of a coincidence also because then, in his view, he is a "hero spirit-saver" using his "higher knowledge" (and his radio set) to save all these hordes of lost souls from wandering in some kind of realm of eternal darkness? I could say more but that's the long and short of it, also I hear other recordings put up on here and they seem to say the same kind of crap "help us" "we need light" etc. etc. Weird.

Ask him to try listening to plain white noise from a radio. He'll most likely hear the voices from any such sound. It's a common phenomenon to hear voices from white noise, particularly easy if you wear a blind fold. I believe it is just an auditory illusion, though that isn't to say I don't believe in ghosts.
@JezzMan10 жыл бұрын
Xander Lee I have done. He says the best results are from his setup with a laptop microphone and a hairdryer. He runs the hairdryer next to the laptop and the motor noise is then "cancelled" by the internal noise cancellation in the laptop. The "voices" seem to then come out amplified. The strangest thing is I have listened, and when a woman (say, my mum or girlfriend) walks in the room, I have heard things like cusses and kinda nasty-sounding noises like grunts and moans, even stuff which sounds like swearing! I don't know what to make of it lol.

Don't think it is a woman's scream, although that is what our brain hears that is similar. The part at 1:12 sounds like atmospheric interference. This can happen due to solar storms, surface weather, and other transmission interference.

IrishLincoln I meant that you can hear noises in the background before the scream. It could be that someone who was manning the radio station at the time was watching TV.

***** I know what you meant. There isn't a microphone like a DJ would use. The stations are set up to use speech and morse generators and/or pre-recorded messages and those are plugged into the transmitter. It is a numbers station involved with Russia perimeter defense for a decapitation nuclear strike. These stations exist for USA, UK, Germany, Sweden and a few other nations in the west as well.

Because computers can easily be hacked, and other governments will understand what the Russians are doing. True, while no government acknowledges their existence, they do, and are operated by such said governments. No one can truly decrypt these messages due to a one-time pad operated by the listener (or the intended listeners, rather). Unless the intended listeners had revealed this information or a base was infiltrated by per say special forces, this information will forever remain secret.

im guessing all the extra voices in the background during the video is interferance from other channels and i think the screem is also interferance
@coroamanicolai45273 жыл бұрын
This might have been a local FM or TV station that is bleeding in the shortwave spectrum and interfering with the Buzzer.

This is pretty ridiculous. If anyone really cared enough to track the signal they could. It hasn't been scrambled or bounced off enough towers to be untraceable. Let's find the goddamn source!
@Murr1can9 жыл бұрын
well they did try to track it down for the second time but apparently they don't want to go to 4 different locations scattered throughout Russia. Also the first location was found but it moved in 2010

The new location had been found. It's near the village of Pskov.

I'm alone here in the comments... Well I might as well give you some backstory. The radio station was proven by experts to be recorded by a microphone, meaning something in a room was making this buzzing noise. That's why you heard background noises and a scream. The military base controlling the station uses the buzzing as a reserve so people don't use the station to broadcast to. The buzzer usually stops every once in a while (less than once a year), and most times you will hear a man give out numbers, as if they're a code. To hear such scenario, but without the talking, search up The Buzzer Breakdown on KZbin.

I’m lead to believe based off of information there was a tv going off in the background. Probably left on by accident. And the commonly know scream just happened to pop up during the movie that was playing

Sounds a bit like a broadcast station wound up on top of The Buzzer. The voice sounds very much like broadcast quality processing, coming in very weak. I'm suspecting the "scream" sound was four notes played on a flute.

Hello from the future of 2022! We now have the Buzzer getting jammed by trolls spamming meme music (and sometimes OTHER NUMBER STATION RECORDINGS, such as the Swedish Rhapsody), and on one occasion someone even seemingly impersonated a message speaker!! It is also possible that someone attempted to jam the buzzer with some sound effects.
@AilurusNOx10 жыл бұрын
In fact, this is a Russian/Ukrainian shortwave radio station, as a matter of fact, get a shortwave radio and go to 4.625Khz on it. There, it might not be up anymore however.
