This is just false advertising. It’s the same with the sun-beds argument, as it will improve the Vit D levels. I personally have two red light devices and I have been using those on and off for the last two years. if my ms is better, is because of something completely different, my Vit D levels are at the level they are because I take them regularly, I am on DMT’s, I eat healthy, I exercise, I am positive and try and rest well at night. That’s my view. I also spend as much time outside as I can; wish Uk weather would be better, but it’s making the most of a bit of everything. Also my fatigue, had improved lately, but again, it’s the combination of doing a little of everything. Amazing video, I have learned so much, but we still have so much to learn

If you listen to this all the way through, you’ll hear that this is not about red light therapy, which is completely different. It’s about UVB therapy.

great to hear of the octave bio ms disease progression blood test - this is exactly what people with MS need. Now if only the rest of the world outside of the US could have access to similar blood tests... I will need to do some research to see what is part of the blood test panel.

So interesting. Thank you! I live in Australia and have a history of skin cancer from sun exposure in my younger years. This led me to avoid the sun as much as possible from my mid-20s. I was diagnosed with MS in 2008 at 44. They found I had very low levels of vitamin D and I have taken supplements ever since. However I am now trying to spend time outside in the morning sunshine - to help both my MS and also my bone health. As I now have osteoporosis at the age of 58... But I know that my bone density can be improved through weight-bearing exercise and sunlight, so I don't feel too bad 😊

UVB gives me skin rash. That’s why I use sun lotion with a high UVB rating. UVA rating can be low. Just UVB has to be a 4-5 star rating. I have to block UVB or I get an awful sun burn/rash. When I was diagnosed I asked my nuro if wearing sun screen for most of my life had anything to do with my MS. He said no. Also my vitamin D levels were fine.

Strange but I was Dx in 2005 and have never really had the typical fatigue others with MS describe. I get "motor fatigue" pretty quickly. My husband has used this light to try to help with his UC but hasn't had remarkable success. I was out enough this summer and take enough D3 each day that I've gotten my Vit D blood test to consistently land close to 100 the recent tests. Just to note that not all MSrs have fatigue issues...more like I have issues getting enough sleep ;-0 and I'm in Wi and 3/4 swede so pretty light skin as well

You're right - Not all MS'ers struggle with fatigue☺️

According to much of the research I should have never gotten MS- I grew up on a farm and although a light skinned Swede I was nut brown as I was always out doing chores, baling hay, weeding garden, training horses, etc. I did a lot of weight lifting besides due to a fixation on a power lifting boyfriend. I never smoked (besides a bit of teenage experimentation) and was never overweight. I never even had mono that I know of although I was certainly exposed being in public school.

a suggestion, hydrate your skin with a lotion or a cream of your choice before your light treatment for more comfort.

Good point! It’s probably because it’s new and “they” can charge us anything they want. They know how much we pay for medication so it’s not a huge surprise.
