Dr. Dunn is an excellent doctor. He listens to what I have to say about my symptoms and think broader than inside of the eyes when it comes to diagnosis. The first time I met him, he gave me the meds and said that I am on the meds too. That makes patient feel like he is approachable as a human. Like he said in the video, he understands what us uveitis patients feel: we are afraid of blindness. But again, like what he said in the video: uveitis is manageable and I started to feel that way when I am his patient. Thanks Dr. Dunn for your medical care.

Dr. Dunn I like the way you explain the uveitis in detail. I was diagnosed Mother's day weekend of 2020 and Sept of 2021 with ckd stage 3. My gynecologist thought it could be uveitis with tiny, now alot of doctors haven't heard of it little own know how to treat it because I hear it's not that common. In the beginning my uveitis Dr did blood tests but still could not tell the cause I since had to change doctors because of driving distance. I have been on numerous different eye drops many of which I was allergic to. Now im on cosopt, zioptan, steroid drops again( I think they caused cataracts in both eyes) I had cataract surgery in the right eye September of 2021 and then my left eye immediately started giving me issues I was in bed at least a week or two before left eye got better. It's been a nightmare. I will be 65 in October and got to keep my medical insurance from my job. Anyway my inflammation never went down in the left eye so the Dr could do my cataract surgery in the left eye this is why uveitid dr put me back on steroid drops. O last year before surgery I was on oral steroids also. I have great Dr's here in Houston all of them I just feel there's not that many uveitid specialist out there. Thank you for listening.

I have a genetic condition and one of the things it causes is sensory development issues so I’m extremely sensitive to light as is. I have an appointment tomorrow to find out if I have Uvitis as my doctor believes that’s why my sensitivity to light is disproportionately worse than my sensitivity to sound, taste, touch, and smell. The biggest reason this is an issue is because I am immunocompromised and glaucoma is in my family as well as I’m at an increased risked because of my genetic condition. If I do have Uveitis it’s likely been an issue of mine from the time I was 2 when I first started to squint my eyes so 14 years completely untreated. I think the reason I’m scared of this is because it was my rheumatologist who noticed some symptoms of it and referred me to an ophthalmologist. Idk why but when someone who doesn’t even focus on the eyes notices something like this it freaks me out.

Does your clinic use YUTIQ for Uveitis? I would appreciate your ideas/ comments. Also what are your opinions on Dextenza vs. DEXYCU? Hello, Id like to become a part of your study for cutting edge medications, procedures, etc. I was diagnosed with posterior uveitis approximately 24 yrs ago. I have extensive scaring in my right eye with no center vision. I had surgery in 1997 to remove the scar and a gas bubble was placed in my eye to seal it. It was not success. 10yrs later the disease moved to my left eye. Current I have extensive peripheral damage and I am unable to see in darkness. I am completely blind in darkness. Ive had steroid injections, avastin injections and Ive had an implant put in my left eye that slowly releases steroid medication over a period of time. I believe I had that procedure done in Dec 2017. This has impacted my life significantly and I wish and hope there is help for me now that more technology has evolved.

Under the care of the hospital in the u.k I was diagnosed with Uveitis, I got a number of tests which all came back negative. so my cause was Idiopathic. However during that time I had stomach issues. (gallstones) I had been and out of hospitals for 4 years, 1 hospital I went too where I had to get my pupil unstuck. when I eventually had my gallbladder out, the flares reduced and I became flare free. I have been flare free for about 4 years now. I asked my eye dr if the two were connected and he said no. however a lot of people have been stating that it could be food related.

From Tahiti: I had my 1st uveitis 3 weeks ago. I am currently hospitalized. Most of the tests came out negative. We wait on th HLA B27 test results from France to find out if it's infectious or autoimmune. What adjustments should I make like food, activities, sunglasses...? It is my first time so thanks for your advice. I do not wear any glasses since my vision has always been good and I hope I won't have to.

Please try the ketogenic diet. It helped me keep my uveitis symptoms in remission and I am more than 3 years now medication-free. Water fasting also works miracles. I tried a lot of eating patterns, but the ketogenic diet is the best anti inflammatory diet I have tried. There is also the carnivore diet, but I think that’s very restrictive for most people. I am sure there is a link between uveitis and insulin resistance & gut health. Maybe it is all caused by the leaky gut syndrome. In any case, inform yourself about nutrition, it may save your health. God bless us all :) P.S.: also avoid completely all „zero“ products. The sweeteners in them cause terrible flare ups in any autoimmune disease, especially in arthritis.

For the sunglasses, I need them my eyes are very sensitive to the sun so I think it is up to you if you were it or not. I know its been a year since you commented but I hope you can use this information, and good luck! :)
