It is no secret that 2024 is the year of AI, and we see apps and products popping daily...
Suno did it first, and Udio is the runner up that went absolutely VIRAL!
In this video, I’m gonna test the UX side of it, give my two cents of what I think about the design and the user flow, and see how easy it is to use from the moment I sign up to the moment I successfully download a song.
And let me tell you, I'm in love!
This is one of my favorite product review I've done on my KZbin channel, and you know I love to review apps (and hate on them haha)
Please keep in mind these are only my opinions as a Product UX Designer. I'm one user out of millions and only express my professional yet personal opinions.
If you're a beginner UX designer, I highly encourage you to adopt critical thinking about apps, always think beyond the interface, and try to understand UX patterns and behaviors that make an app or a product good (or bad).
There are always pros and cons, and a good UX designer knows how to find inspiration even in terrible apps 😊

Love it when people discover Udio. I've been using it now for about a month and is absolutely blown away by what it can do. There certainly are ways to customize and control the music creation that I've discovered through the weeks and it's just awesome! Looking forward to more of your videos. SUBBED!

computer engineer here 4:53 that "please" thing doesn't apply to text-to-audio and text-to-video in these types of genAI, comma-separated attribute lists do better 5:22 it's not loading, it's actual generation that takes time, A/V generation is far slower than text generation

I'd just like to point out that, legally speaking, "intellectual property" is different than "work product". So your example of "Van Gogh" is simply work product because not only is Gogh dead (1890) but the copyright on his works have all expired. So there is no legal reason you can't copy his exact style as it is now public domain. What you cannot do is pass it off as an original because that's art forgery.

So its a "great debate" and "we will have to solve it"? Who exactly is going to solve it for us and when, corporations once they have a total monopoly over most of human entertainment and creativity? Lets "solve it" right now and simply criticise this corporate crap, lets refuse this on in our lives, our TV screens and in our radios.

I think technology will always spark ethical debates. Not sure what the solution will be, but pretty sure they’ll be regulations. I agree that we don’t do enough to solve this issue tho.

You listen that's kind of music, that don't really required human involving.

Hmmm, currently all music requires humans (apart from these new AI tools)

SImply calling them my creations tricks users into the mindset that it's something they did, yet don't have any idea of how to do. You didn't create anything. You just devalued the work of others without their consent.

That’s actually very interesting. I also had a hard time saying “the person that created this song” As I mentioned in the video, I think there’s a great ethical debate going on, and the question of- what’s the difference between a human being inspired by a song, compared to a machine It’s very interesting and I don’t have a clear answer

@@ItsUXgirl That looks like a sitting on the fence, yet your prepared to take part , make a video and dance to the songs in celebration. I think you've shown your side and have lip service response.

this version won't kill musicians, but in two more versions... we are done. So far, the variations are just lazy in arrangement. Basic, cliche parts is all it is doing so far, not really key changes or time changes. . also, you didn't understand many controls. Stop guessing in videos youtubers. Learn prep.

It’s a UX channel, not a music channel, and so I might not all the controls, especially on a first reaction…

I kind of saw this coming around 2009/10 when all the internet musicans started using shitty autotune this is the outcome. Get people used to listening to robotic vocals and the next step is generating vocals and automating music. People have been exposed to this that they don't really even realize that the vocals all sound the same only difference is male/female vocals.
@ItsUXgirl
@ItsUXgirl 28 күн бұрын
I honestly agree with you a lot. Our ears have gotten used to this perfect pitch, that real voices now sound pitchy for us… Add that to the broader picture of what’s considered “natural beauty” these days and we’re in a problematic situation 😅

autotune is a tool like reverb and delay, excessive usage of tools will result in garbage sound. i dont think you understand music production enough to realize that autotune can't fix obnoxious singing. or you do but choose to act like all garbage vocalists suddenly got to industry standards because of the existence of autotune most actually good artists barely use any autotune anyway (when they use it intensively it's often an artistic choice than a "fix' for their lack of singing abilities)
@oru
@oru 26 күн бұрын
this came off way more aggressive than i intended it to be but my point is that autotune barely changed anything for both artists that can sing and changed nothing for artists that cant. the only thing it changed is the intermediate vocalists that went from "meh" to "okay" level

@@oru@oru That's not what was said- the fact that everyone (good singers or not) sounds 100% perfect makes real voices in real life sound off. It creates an impossible standard that if Rihanna doesn't nail in live performance, ppl will claim she can't sing (for example) Plus- many garbage vocalist got to industry standard with autotune (ahm Travis Scot sorry not sorry)
