This talk was the perfect condensation of Bogost's ideas from Persuasive Games, the Gamification is Bullshit articles, and Play Anything. I find this incredible useful to steer fellow and future educators away from the empty siren song of "gamification" and to pursue "fun" through commitment (theirs, and then their students following) to the beauty of the subject matter, whatever form we choose to deliver it.

I think that Ian is kind of equating Fun with play as Hizinga used it in Homo Ludens, can anyone explain why fun is not play?
