Am glad to hear this. Then I belie e Meriye knows how well admired she is for her grace (laatiflik) and beauty (guzelik). I lived in Chi a as boy, and my father spoke/read Mandarin well and fair Cantonese too. Sadly I lost mine (I was a youngg boy when I left) but not memories. Enjoy classical Chinese music and food. Also listen to and enjoy Turkish family folk music from Uyghur to Osmanli. Also spe t years in Turkey with a visit to Azerbaijan (there is even an Azeri language tv show in California. I'm a Taiwanese guy from the US. I love my own Chinese culture and also really love Uyghur culture, music, dancing, food...I even tried to learn a little bit of their language. As a Chinese, I have to say this area was only under a loose control of China since Tang Dynasty, not Han. And it was the Mongolians that really put Tarim Basin Area and Traditional China together when they built the Yuan Dynasty. I admire the Tang Dynasty because different ethnic groups can live much more freely together, as they share the same politic rights just like today's America. People from Persian, Korean or Mongolia all can hold positions in the government.
