Nothing interests me more than the similarity between the folk/classical musics of people all over the world, and Uyghur music is closer to a kind of universal music than anything I've ever heard. It sounds Turkic, Arabic, Indian, East Asian, Slavic, even like American bluegrass or Irish reels...it sounds more like everything than anything I've ever heard.

the hungarian language got a lot of finno-ugric influence, but the bases is from somewhere there, mongolian lands...a lot of uyghur words met with the hungarian words: like alma=alma ,kakukk=kakukk, oroszlan=arslan (lion).and etc.

This is a long time later, but the musician was Nurmuhemmet Tursun. May he Rest in Peace. He was phenomenal. This song is called Äjäm - it's one of the 12 muqam suites. Here is more info about him: www.uyghurensemble.co.uk/en-html/en-art-nurmemet-tursun.html

It amazes me how virulent the comments can be on the Internet. We have this database of many interesting or wonderful clips (such as this one)for the delight of everyone, only to provoke scorn, bitterness, contempt and hatred. Why?

@kuruptxxx ; Turk is a genetical characteristic, it is like saying 'European' or Chinese. Within are a caleidoscope of other ethnics. magyars are NOT SLAVIC AT ALL, we do not speak slavic nor write cyrilic. The anthropological features of a magyar is various, some look like chinese because of Asian ancestry, some look like Middle eastern because of their migrations and others are blond like me and I have a french Canadian accent because I lived in Quebec, Canada. We are not Romans either! STUDY!
