In 2022, the front line ran along the village of Rubizhne in the Vovchansk community. Battles between Ukrainian and Russian forces raged here for over half a year. Currently, there isn't a single undamaged building in the village, and it will take about 5 years to demine the entire area.
People are now returning to the village, including children. There has been no electricity for three years, but the power supply is expected to be restored in the coming months. Due to the proximity to the border and the tense situation, reconstruction efforts in the village are slow, as the community faces shelling every day.
