In this video, Emily Esfahani emphasizes the importance of giving our existence a sense of meaning. “I began to see that there is this messaging constantly that a good life is a happy life,” the writer explains. This was a message that didn’t resonate with her personal experience. As a child immersed in a Sufi meditation community, she noticed many people were not seeking happiness, yet their lives were still full of meaning. Esfahani decided to conduct her research from a multidisciplinary perspective that included sociology, neuroscience and philosophy, which were cornerstones for building a fulfilling and meaningful life. She discusses and delves into the four pillars that she discovered: belonging, purpose, storytelling and transcendence.
Emily Esfahani is a philosopher, psychologist and writer. She is author of The Power of Meaning: Finding Fulfillment in a World Obsessed with Happiness, which has been translated into more than 15 languages. She studied Philosophy at Dartmouth College and earned a master’s degree in Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked as a columnist for The New Criterion and held an editorial role at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Her work has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and The Atlantic, among many others.

Buen video hoy .
