I recall V being described as “the most grounded one of us”, by the other BTS members. I can easily imagine that HYBE and V’s bodyguards simply uttered sighs of resignation when “afflicted” by this concept from V. It is also so typical that such a spontaneous encounter with a “bear” named “Vee”, would not bring people instantly to the memory of V’s song “Winter Bear”. Remember, the Western “v” sound does not exist in Korean. Myself, 75 years old and female, knowing BTS and V from the perspective of a distant Army who has no expectation of ever encountering any BTS member “casually”, would also likely have been confused and distrustful. At the same time, for me, this video expresses the PERFECT essence of V’s ESSENTIAL person. He asks, “If I, V,should approach you as a completely unknown and unremarkable human being, and then should reveal myself as the “star” you imagine that I am, HONESTLY, how would you meet me, react to me?” For me, this video represents issues of trust and a healthy civilization. I commend V for his commitment to trust!

This is what makes Taehyung a true artist. His album promotion was one of the best and most creative I have ever seen from an artist. I love how much he prefers local/unconventional programs for his solo promotion 🥺 You already mentioned Dingo and Pixid, but more examples of this: - His performance for Tiny Desk Korea (with his band, that you reacted to) was in the very first line-up for the debut of Tiny Desk in the country. - Aside from the already established music shows, he also chose to perform at Npop, a newly-debuted show at the time, and him being there really boosted their ratings. - Instead of the west, he promoted in Japan which is another huge market for K-Pop. I think he's one of the better Japanese speakers in BTS, so this wasn't a big surprise for us. He did some random things there like dressing up an actor (who plays a sumo wrestler in a Netflix show) in his classic "loafers and a knit vest" 😆 - In Japan, he went to The First Take - which (in my understanding) is their version of Tiny Desk, except the artists have the added pressure of it being their actual first take. Happy Birthday Gabriel! What a great pick!! Tae’s Layover promotions were some of my fav ever because of how intimate and unique they were… Your reactions were super fun thank you. I also agree with you guys and want to add that Tae wants to approach ARMY’s as human to human and actually see them and would be more comfortable in cosy settings, despite him belonging and suiting the worlds biggest stages. He is very genuinely curious about us. From watching Army KZbin and Army v-logs, to always communicating sincerely with us on weverse, and always knowing what’s going on on ARMY social media. He’s so very warm and endearing. Also I would have passed out from Tae’s beauty and prettiness. You were also spot on on how small the amount of money was! It’s so cute that he earned £6.70 in total and his goal was to buy coffee bread. Which is the speciality in Gangneung. (Gangneung is a small coastal place about 2.5 hours away from Seoul by car/bus or an hour and a half each way on the KTX (high speed train))… incidentally the KTX is the same train you saw in ‘Train to Busan’ but a different direction. It’s so sweet that Tae travelled so far because he wanted to reach ARMY’s/the public in places they don’t normally visit. Also if he wasn’t going to charge it would be even harder to convince people that it’s actually a rookie singer etc… they would be suspicious why it’s free keke. Thanks again for this reaction. Another content that Tae did that I really really think you will all genuinely love is his appearance on the Palette with IU. I highly recommend it because not only is there a really really good live band, but the interactions are so wholesome and you get to know a lot about Tae’s personality and the music talk is also interesting. Musically I think summer would also love IU’s voice as I feel they have similar voices… It’s soooo good. JK and Tae also each individually did special ‘Spotipoly’ promotions which were such a fun unique mix too that I think you guys will like. There are so many hidden gem contents from all the boy’s promotions, esp with the way Tae did the Layover ones, they were very sincere and fresh. All of the members solo releases really highlighted their personalities and their preferences and it’s been really interesting seeing that during chapter 2. Tae has spoken multiple times about how he misses the intimacy they used to have with their fans-he’d recognize faces at concerts and fan meets, etc. He really values the personal connection with other people music can foster. A lot of his promotions focused on three things: live music, yeontan, and being able to interact with Army and “normal” people in a casual, friendly way. Dingo, Pixid, his numerous live performances, and even his fan meet where he played games with Army all really highlight how much he values that intimacy. His album design, too, is supposed to mimic a package a friend sends you through the post. Glad you enjoyed the video and happy belated birthday, Gabriel.
