If IPS Vijayakumar had not written his book Veerappan: Chasing the Brigand in 2017, he would not be in any trouble now. His lies would not have been exposed. But Vijayakumar chose to cash in on the media's demand for macho stories and films. Vijayakumar had seen how Amit Lodha IPS had written his Bihar Diaries book which was made into a web series and hit film. Trying to take advantage of this example, Vijayakumar wrote his own book, and now it has become clear that his handling of the Veerappan operation is a deeply dark chapter in Indian history. Some journalists like Nakheeran Gopal, Shiva media Shivasubramanian have effectively exposed the lies of Vijayakumar. First and foremost duty of a police officer is to bring the criminal to a court of law to face justice. Instead, he is now saying that trying to catch Veerappan alive would have cost unacceptable loss of lives on the side of the STF team. If this is so, how did the STF get Veerappan and Govindhan into an ambulance, purportedly driving to town to receive medical treatment for cataract? Vijayakumar’s story is completely bogus. He has no guilt or shame that he has failed in his duty to bring a criminal to a court of law. He has instead killed Veerappan in a fraudulent encounter. Vijayakumar is simply covering up with a boat load of lies, instead of simply speaking the truth, as it is. This shows that the IPS cadre police is a shameless, murderous criminal gang operating against the glorious traditions of Indian democracy. Almost the entire duration of this 2-part interview, Vijayakumar seems completely oblivious of any failure to hand over a criminal to a court of law. Instead he is talking with supreme confidence that he has completed a project successfully. The truth is that using extra-constitutional and illegitimate authority, Vijayakumar IPS has killed Veerappan and his acolytes in cold blood, before loading them onto the ambulance and faking a police encounter in Papparapatti. Since he provided a lot of details in his 2017 book, journalists Gopal and Sivasubramanian have combed his book closely, gathered a lot of evidence to disprove the version that Vijayakumar has promoted. Satya me Vijayate!
