Hi there, I have been looking for the answer to a question, but I guess I don't have enough knowledge or skill about software to find my answer. I hope you guys or any other experts can help me to answer this question: In terms of realism, clarity, depth, or overall quality, is there a difference between Sketchup V-Ray and 3ds Max V-Ray renderings? Please help, if I can find the answer, I will have an idea of what direction I should keep going. I am good in Sketchup and learning V-Ray rending within it, but somehow I feel like others working with 3ds Max +V-Ray is always ahead! I am not sure if it is only about personal skills, or actually the difference between the two software.. Thanks a lot !

How long should take a final render on for example CPU on an avreage/goog machine? I need that for some kind of reference. For me it took 10 min. Thank you.

For me, following exactly the tutorial settings and using GPU to render as he did, it took 9m 27". My GPU is a RTX 2070 super.

When I add Fur to the scene the Real time render takes a long time starting the render . I was wondering if the video is fast forwarded during the Real time rendering or my machine or my settings are wrong?

He said he had a powerful GPU, and he was using his GPU to render. I think that's the main reason.

Where i can find the "override focal length" setting (camera setting in vray 2.0) in vray next ?

This workflow was removed with V-Ray 3 for SketchUp. Since then, Focal length and film width values have been hardcoded while the Field of View is taken directly from SketchUp (Camera > Field of View). Further controls are available in the V-Ray Asset Editor's Settings panel under Camera > "Depth of Field" and "Effects".

you have to add denoiser channel in Vray Frame buffer separately and if it loads black channel deactivate hardware acceleration :D

Great tutorial! Could you please post which CPU your machine is using? I have tried this tutorial on Mac but the active workflow is too slow to make it a viable option, by the time the CPU processes the changes in light etc. it is hard to learn how the different settings can affect the scene

Did you try to group the object first?

Maybe it went upside down of the object, as it happened in my case...so I had to flip it
