I watched your video like 2 times, afterwards I grabbed the new hand guards I have bought for over a month but skeptical if I won't flop fixing them. I effortlessly mounted them without no hitch. All thanks to you, very happy. PS: only thing I noticed is that the clutch side lap and fit neater than the brake side, I have however test rode and all seem okay.

Hey Josh, thanks a lot for making this video, very helpful. I'm trying to install handguards on my Suzuki V-Strom and I have run into the problem you mentioned in the video. While unscrewing the bar end, I tried my best to pull it outward to shift the nut inside the handle bar but probably not enough, it was just way too tight. Now I can't reach the nut with the new bolt to screw in the spacer. What could I do? Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks a lot, Govind

Thanks Josh. Very helpful. Once I have pulled the nut and installed the handguard, it's not necessary to to pull it again, ok? I already have a handguard installed and just want to change the bolt, so I guess the nut is in the correct position, ok?

You don't have to pull it all the way out but you will want to pull it halfway way before removing the bolt or you will find it hard to get it back threaded again

I definitely pushed the nut back into the handle bars like you said not to… unfortunately I saw this video after I attempted to do it on my own… 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@ridingwithjosh4364 I did this also. How did you retrieve the nut? Edit: Nevermind, I used a skinny flat head screw driver to fish out the rubber wedge and used an old medical hook/pick to fish out the washer and nut

hey man I have an ugly/damaged bar weight on my 09 dl1000, well I bought a new one and I'm wondering if it is as easy as just taking the screw out, taking off the old bar weight, putting the new one on and then screwing it back in... does that sound about right or am I going to mess something up on the inside like you were saying on this video. please help, new to motorcycles. thanks in advanced >.

It is that easy long as you slode it out a little like I did or you won't be able to get bolt to thread back in. Just loosen a little slide it out half way to a little more the finish unscrewing. You will be able to remove old bar weight, install new one and be able to thread bolt back into nut plate inside bar. Hope that helps you!
