@@simonhouse4126 last time i played i just moved the drifter file out of the monsters folder and they stopped spawning. i think that's kind of what you want, because you can't turn down their sounds afaik

Maybe if your room is isn't properly sealed you can hear wind howling. So you may need to upgrade your door, windows...etc

True, but it's not as bad now that drifters spawn in more specific conditions than just 'dark'. At least in my current world, my house hardly ever has the 'drifters constantly outside' problem. Volume slider for hostile mobs would be awesome though

Gotta agree with you there, dunno what they should do about them but maybe make em not spawn on the surface and get a new less obnoxious surface hostile mob

i am sure drifters will be reworked at some point so that they're more of a horror threat and not an annoyance. I have faith on these devs.

When I had to spend some time indoors crafting or cooking, I'd intentionally leave a door close to my workstations so I could listen to the rain outside, cause it felt weird and immersion breaking having the sound stop when indoors, so this is pretty much a dream come true. :') Absolutely love it!

YES thank you so much for this. It was already pretty good before but this is just great. The ambience and atmosphere in VS is one of the biggest selling points for me, playing this game is almost like meditation. Until the bear arrives..

Absolutely! there's always going to be surface level comparisons to other survival games like Minecraft, but as soon as I saw a youtuber named Aavak do a short couple videos on it I could feel that difference in atmosphere. That was several updates ago and I was just watching too! It's one of the only survival games that I've legitimately stopped and just marveled at the world around me. Also bears. Why are there so many? I wish to vacate the bear area. The Bearea.

playing vintage story feels like playing minecraft for the first time again and i yet it is miles more fun then minecraft

It's awesome how much effort you guys have and are still putting into the general atmosphere of the game! It's one of the only survival games that I'll sit and observe the world around me because of that atmosphere. From the terrain to the wind making the trees sway, the sounds of walking on snow, it really feels like a living world. Even on the tension side, I still feel a pit of dread going even slightly deep into a cave while in other games I'd charge in without a worry. I love rain and storms, and having that be even better in the soundscape will be awesome! I'm really excited for the next update!

Most games just have that loud crack of lightning, but never any rolling thunder. I really don't get why that is. Rolling thunder one of my favorite sounds of all time. So I appreciate the distant rumbling here!

I'm sure that these sounds would be very cool to hear but seeing as the games progression makes it so difficult to get to a stage where you will hear sounds similar to this, I'm afraid I will never experience it for myself. Though, that just makes me even more glad you bothered to upload it in the first place.

it requires you to have leaded glass windows or glass blocks on your house. There is also a bug or two related to it that we've fixed for 1.20

such a very much needed feature. Please don't make something similar only attainable by crafting end game stuff... I would love to hear soft rain even when I only have dirt, grass, or wood to build with. I frequently get rainy biomes so, this is a wonderful addition. Here's hoping there are less bugs, I play vanilla and bugs have been kind of a lot in recent updates. Half trees, chunk issues, world gen looking like fantasy reject garbage all the time no matter the settings, floating rocks all over the place... Now there are issues with molds, etc... Let's hope it becomes a more worthwhile experience. Thanks for your hard work.

Hi, I like this game but I would like to share my opinion, if you want to know it of course. I think this game would be much better without those drifters and temporal storms... Because the game itself is beautiful and interesting, but drifters and storms are uninteresting and spoil the atmosphere of the game. Also, a huge disadvantage is that hostile mobs can spawn right in your house, immediately the feeling of comfort and security at home disappears. It would be better to add some skeletons or trolls instead of this all.
