I love that if you can hear the insect, you can actually find it. Can you catch them? make little jars of bugs. That react to time and temperature and events? things like they die at the end or beginning of seasons. Or they say their food lasts for the same time as something else, so you can use them like timers for far away farms etc.

I understand why. Adding too much to Minecraft turns it into something like Terraria. A lot of people including myself enjoyed Minecraft's simplicity. Vintage story is like a fresh minecraft to me, and they aren't restricted by community nostalgia.

Minecraft became too big, if they add anything new they will have to spend more time bugfixing on all the different devices, consoles, OS that minecraft runs on, so the devs play it safe and implement small things with long time inbetween, they have nothing to earn by taking risk since it's already one of the most iconic games of all time, so as usual it's the indie scene that does the legwork.

Please please please choose a different cicada cry. Not one with a steady drone but one with variation in its tone like Scissor Grinder, Swamp, or Walker Cicadas. The magicicada that surfaced these past two weeks are amazing, but I am struggling more and more to enjoy their mating calls. The annual scissor grinder that comes in July and August at least take breaks between their calls instead of being a loud white noise. Although, I have noticed a far wider range of chattering the magicicada make compared to the others, before they start the droning. If you listen carefully, they even sometimes undulate in unison. It's like hearing the life blood of the planet.
