I bought mine nearly 20 years ago and it is still in the box. Have been watching cooking shows during this lockdown and see many chefs using this device -- so it's now out of the box -- and I can't thank you enough for your video. Many many many thanks!

22 years and I still use it. The best slicer
@PhyllisGlassup2TheBrim2 жыл бұрын
I bought my first one around 40 years ago after watching a demo in a shopping centre. I have never been without one since. I'm so afraid of being without mine that I bought another as a spare. I use it very often as I dehydrate surplus fruit and veg which needs slicing thinly. I make coleslaw on a weekly basis. Not the thin vinegary supermarket stuff, but thick, creamy stuff, with more of the stuff I like (onion). I make one big bowlful, then split it into 3 or 4 and make variation. I add sultanas and curry powder to make Coronation coleslaw, Make coleslaw from red cabbage and add slices almonds, or add pineapple chunks, celery and apple with a bit of honey as a mildly sweet and sour-ish coleslaw. It is all healthy, with no additives and is *cheap*.

It's also very useful for slicing and dicing veggies to make soup in winter.

We have been using these for 35 years, great gifts, all my daughters & extended families enjoy the V slicer❣️ Vital kitchen tool!!!! Great tutorial! Thank you. Ps: A tiny suggestion would be to stop the extra slicing & kitchen sounds not made by the professional presenter. These extra sounds create an unexplained & unnecessary distraction. Food 🥦🥒for thought😊

The background noise is very distracting. Otherwise, a good video.

It looks like his audio / video synchronization is off. The 'background noise' is actually the soundtrack but about 20 seconds ahead of the video.

My chips are too thin how did you cut your chips thick ?
@TnevansltdCoUk8 жыл бұрын
+Mildred Lyon Hi Many thanks for your enquiry. To cut the chips ensure you use the full length of the mandolin with the large julienne blade insert. All the way to the top of the board and all the way to the bottom will give you a 10mm chip. Regards T N Evans Ltd
@mplyon8 жыл бұрын
+T N Evans Ltd Thank you for your reply I have noticed now why your chips are thicker its because you have only 8 cutting blades on you cutter I have 12 on mine could you tell me where to get one with only 8 blades like yours please as I purchased this so I could cut chips so I am very disappointed with my v slicer
@TnevansltdCoUk8 жыл бұрын
+Mildred Lyon We are using the 10mm julienne blade. Which Borner model do you have? The 10mm blade comes as standard with the V1 as in the film. The V5 and Stainless Steel V6 do not have this size of large Juilenne blade. Please do check out the comparisons on our website www.tnevansltd.co.uk/borner-mandolin-v-slicer.htmlI hope that helps.RegardsT N Evans Ltd
