Just bought a 1290 SA-R. It's a big bike, but damn can it ball out off road. I can't ride 1/50 as well as these guys, but can ride through some rutted, muddy fields at a decent clip and the bike doesn't skip a beat and never feels off balance. Trust that it can do what it was built to do and it's all good.

But what does it prove to stick ultra talented pros on these heavy bikes and then edit splice a video together that only LOOKS like there is a motorcycle that mortal men could actually do this with?.....Put the typical buyer on one and I don't care how much splicing and editing you do, it will look boringly tame in comparison ....like "man this guy looks afraid he'll drop it any moment...does not look all that fun"

You Garner the applause and comments like "Damn son that is some good riding"

In reality tires on these MASSIVELY overweight motorcycles are destroyed after very few miles compared to reasonable weight motorcycles with same tires ....these are stupid machines built for ONE purpose! To relieve older guys of their disposable income.......these companies REFUSE to build us the proper blend of power weight reliability suspension travel etc...they have their marketing price points and to HELL with what would be best....a 375llb 60hp twin with full on dual sport suspension and handling ....bikes that could truly go round the world and kick ass in the dirt and hold their own days on end on the highway ....NO ONE will build...WHY? Because the marketing guys have their "price points" and entry level/beginner bikes all based on displacement ...they REFUSE to screw with with their formulas and allow engineers to build us what WOULD be overall BEST

Back in 2013 I threw a leg over my first KTM,. The fit, the finish, the impressive parts list, it all comes together in a very usable package. I just traded my KTM 690 Enduro R on a new 790 Adventure. What a bike! 95 HP, 420 lbs, 60 Miles Per Gallon, all day comfort and cruise control.......what more do you want in a bike?
