The thing that makes this theme so beautiful to me is that U-1 knows it by heart. It isn't explained or stated how he learned it or what significance it has to him or why it is "legendary". He just knew to play it to soothe Kirah in the campfire without even transforming into Gitaroo Man, like a simple love song. And then he did it again to move her and the people to stop fighting. The sound the old man mentions they all had forgotten for so long, was a simple love song.

Ever notice that this song is the only one in the game that doesn't actually "damage" the opponent? The Legendary Theme was not meant to fight wars, it was meant to end them. Love, peace, and rock n roll.

Man, I love Gitaroo Man so much. I played the demo when I was 7 years old and fell in love with the music and aesthetics of the characters. I even made U-1 one of my imaginary friends for a while. Later as a 24 year old I felt a need to play it again and I bought it off eBay and then started to really read into the storyline. U-1 is a lot like me, and he had to conquer his fears to become his true self. That is what I am currently trying to do in my own life. It's a weird connection. I wish they would make a sequel. I would love to see more of U-1 and his life after being Gitaroo Man.

Me and my older brother found this in a library. I remember us getting it because it made us think about Naruto which was popular at the time. We never beat it because we had to return it. I remember a some years later going on KZbin when i got my first computer and looking for it and then got introduced to the songs we didn't get to in time. I believe this and the acoustic version were the first time I cried listening to music. I've been listening ever since. Gained and lost friends and family but this music has always been there to give me hope. Nothing would give me more joy than to see this franchise see some sort of a resurgence instead of fading into obscurity. Maybe that's part of why I love it though. The fact that it's grown alongside me and will someday fade away like me. Obviously the internet is a powerful thing, so hopefully this music will live long past me and help other people like it helped me.

I've never played the game, I only found out about the song from a 'meme' (it was just an image really) I saw a few years ago with the picture being a (assumedly) Japanese school girl standing on the roof of her house, holding a guitar, staring off into the sunset, and this track was the music that was put over it. I fell in love with both this track and the image instantly, I usually hate saying shit like this, but something about them gave off something that i felt on an emotional level, and ever since then, its been one of my all time favorite things saved to my phone. A little under a year ago, that phone shit itself, and everything on it was completely lost. When listening one of my playlists today, I came across this song again. The thought popped into my head that I should go find that image again, but then I realized I don't have that image anymore. Suddenly really bummed out. At least I still have the song.

Here's some lyrics from COIL's song Reading Reccomendations. It's a song based off the Legendary Theme, they made it as a tribute of one of their favorite projects, Gitaroo Man. These lyrics are from the Koei Wikia. After flying through the sky, crossing the oceans, and transcending through time, you came at last to me Like I was the sole treasure of your eye, you looked straight at me and told me and only to me Ah, I wrote this just for you Take any part you like if you want Because like the water, like the wind, like the light, you will be there right here with me Ah, I wrote this just for you Burn it right away if you don't want it Ah, I lived only for you Ask me any time if you want to know more As though you were the water, as though you were the wind, as though you were the light, as though you were alive
