Thank you so much for posting these videos. This took me back to my childhood with my Dad doing these same runs from Townsville to Mt. Isa, Townsville to Cairns or Townsville to Brisbane and just about everywhere in between. This was back in the 80's and from the looks of it NOTHING has changed. God I love and miss Queensland. Cheers :)

Awesome video...enjoyed that. I'd hate to see what you could do with a Gopro camera system! Very high quality video in a small package...would truly show off the scenery as well as your escapades. Your videos are always enjoyable...always look forward to them.

usually double up the trailers and dollys using loading ramps, but a mobile crane is also handy and quicker

You need to have your HR open licence for a year, before you can do the course to get your MC licence. Here in QLD you can skip your HC and move straight to the MC. I'll be doing this early next year and Major training here in Brissie do a 2 1/2 day course-think it cost's about $2000. Alternativly there are apprentiship programs for young truckies up North. One thing though-all employers need you to show experience before they employ you. Start small, LR or MR and gain experience.

Drove US Army trucks in Thailand on left side of road. Big trucks required codriver to see centerline of road. Narrow roads where I was.

Thanks for sharin m8. Reckon the difference could be a Torque vs HP thing? HP only gives you top speed, torque will give you speed up a hill or acceleration. Also - whya song about drug addiction?

Hey Troy, Just got the same response from gm16v149 but for the life of me I can't remember these ramps all about the place. Do you put a set on a top ramp and back under and pull them on to your A trailer? A container fork seems to make the most sense. Anyhows, a look at a double up procedure would be cool. With all the mining gearing up the future looks good for heavy haul you reckon? Cheers mate!

You will have to get onto your boss Steve and have him put the OLD MACK on the dyno and see how many horsepower it is really putting out. It sounds like something is wrong with the old engine. It should be putting out a lot more power than it is especially with the low gearing.

Back at it Troy! How'se your back treating you? Quick query ,how do you double up those trailers ? Do you hire a fork at a roadhouse stop or does your boss(Steve) organize all the logistics? I use to haul cars all over regional Queensland back in the early nineties for TDG(patricks, now Toll) Been in the States since 96. Cheers mate!
